windy as hell today. Humid aswell. Temps were all over the place across Melbourne, some suburbs had 36 degrees, others had only 25 This time I ended up being one of the cool ones! (for a change) city: 33.8C me: 27.9C highest temp in Melb was 36.7C (and only 15km from me!) once again, the promised storms didnt happen. Last rainfall was in December!

a pleasant 24 degrees at 10pm. Just what a summer night should be Cold front came in during the afternoon blowing away the oppressive humid air. Still blazing hot for the poor suckers in the north of the state. About 44-45 across the north today and still 37 at 10pm in places like Mildura and Albury. Went for a walk this afternoon and was surprised at how all the grass everywhere is literally fried. All the fields, nature strips etc are this golden-brown colour. There's a bush near my place with berries on it, all those were literally scorched. They are normally red, now they have turned brown. these have been the temps in my area over the last few days: tues.......... 37.3 wed ......... 43.3 thur.......... 45.6 fri ............ 45.3 today ....... 37.6 (melbourne's CBD fared much better with 30.5 there thanks to seabreezes.) 31 tomorrow.

so humid and hot here, that I'm on my second T-shirt for the day. We were transformed from the Sahara desert to Thailand in the last 24 hours.

very humid 37C atm, although the city centre and most suburbs closer to the bay are about 10 degrees cooler! Incidentally my area is the hottest part of melbourne today....which was also the case yesterday and the day before Even though yesterday was 45 degrees, it was atleast DRY!

Yep Ive got a big house with ducted A/C! Indoor temps were around 15-20C cooler. Woke up to a humid 29 degrees today, supposed to hit 37 with afternoon showers/storms. The outer eastern suburbs might hit 40 (where I am!) One town only about 20km from me got 46.7 degrees yesterday City officially hit 45.1C

got alot of smoke haze here from a nearby grass fire.....and its 45 degrees

It's not unhealthy, but it does sting your eyes and skin! 38 degrees and sunny at 10am here. Forecast is 43ºC today with afternoon shower/storms. I hope it pulls off, I want to see some lightning already!

I actually think it's quite cool to experience such heat. It's not everyday it hits the mid 40's in Melbourne! Here's my thermometer at about 3:30pm this afternoon: (sorry for the crap quality, my camera is a POS) and this is what 46 degrees looks like: (the blue thing on the fence is the thermometer): A proper weather station near my place recorded 45.6 degrees at 4:03pm.

^^^ It was definately an out of the ordinary experience! First time ever the heat stung my eyes, and its literally feels like sticking your head in an oven. There was even a "smell" in the air, hard to describe but its sort of like the aroma of smoke or something cooking. It's cooler now , 33 degrees at 8:50pm. tomorrow forecast: min 27 / max 43 degrees, mostly sunny

46 degrees here! :o :o Didn't get below 29 last night. Outside, the heat actually stings your eyes. And the windows are literally hot to the touch.

45.7C in Adelaide to be exact. Shame it didn't push those extra measly 0.3 degrees to get a nice clean 46! 43.4C was the high here. Stayed above 40C until 8.30pm. Still 36C here at 10pm. Funnily enough, down the road in Geelong it's only 24!

43C here now, one town between Adelaide and the Victorian border got to 48 degrees just before :o :o
