  1. Ruby God that situation is a mess. I really feel for her. Her heart belongs with April. Poor Romeo he is completly & utterly in love with her. This is gonna be a hard one to break off. Poor Bianca with the whole Katie thing. She must feel so insecure. They lost Katie once it can't happen permanently she has rights stress...Toby Braxton jeese that child is wild, definitly a Braxton. They have their hands full with him. Him & Ella are gonna be trouble when they are older. I love little Noah. Bless him looking out for Charlie such a sweetheart I love him.

Mod Edit. This post contained almost no capital letters for character names or normal punctuation. Both of these are required by Board rules. I have edited to add these. Could you please make an attempt to use Capital letters and punctuation.

  2. I would love to see her bitch-mode stemmed right back to the fact that she is angry at herself because she fell into the trap of thinking young love conquers all. Just when I find her to be a bitch she has a scene that gives me a glimmer of hope that they know just what they are doing with this character. I love her moments with Alf and John.

She has a Gypsy edge to her. Is great with the bitchface but deep down their is an insecure little girl trying to play grown ups. And that is where the fault is. I tend to forget that she is only... 15/16?

I agree she's reminiscent of Gypsy and Gypsy was one of my favourite characters. She is an insecure little girl trying to put on a brave front.

  3. Casey is being made to play so many emotions, sad, hurt, angry. He is only trying to add all them and when he can be happy he will.

Lincoln is a "normal" actor.. He can act but he can't act that brilliantly IMO. He tried too hard but that's just my opinion.

I'm not saying he is the greatest actor of all time but between 2011-12 he definitely managed to out-act some of the others (not the older cast) and he could manage different scenes with ease. But this year whenever Casey is supposed to be sad, hurt, angry, happy... it just comes across as pure crazy. It does come across as forced and trying too hard so I am finding myself laughing more at the serious scenes involving Casey.

    I can't help it !

Agreed with you 100%. The producers obviously love Casey too much.

There's no way he is talented like the older cast. It's a disgrace that Alf, Marilyn, Irene and Roo never get their own storylines. I am fed up of the producers giving the young cast big storylines etc

Lincoln Younes is a young actor. I think it is premature to judge him as "not talented" like the older cast. He does not have the experience of life or the industry that a Ray or Lynne has built up over many years. Not as experienced I would be happy to recognise.

  4. I thought last night's episode clearly showed the character development of Bianca. She is a multi layered character and becoming more so. Obviously the whole Rocco tragedy has matured her and calmed some of her more volatile traits.

I admired how last night she switched from the stunning, red bikini clad, soon to be River Girl to the responsible senior teacher so quickly when the occasion demanded it. I hope the writers can continue to develop these two aspects of her character in parallel into the future.

  5. I think that's definitely right RR1.

For me she just seems to be clinging to Casey because she hasn't a relationship with her family or anyone else. I agree with those who think things are moving far too quickly.

It's probably not a popular opinion but I think Sasha was just as much responsible for the failure of her relationship with Casey as he was.

  10. The 2012 season of Home and Away has now drawn to a close on Australian screens for another year, so lets look back on the year that was. Let us focus on the individual character and their development while they have appeared on our screens no matter how long or short of a time, they have appeared during this year.

QA and I will be hosting this in the Character/Discussion thread and each week we will focus on different characters those who are still on the show and also those who have left our screen in 2012. When posting please limit your post to one post per character and edit your post if you wish to add anything in and please use spoiler tags for spoilers.

The next four characters have been posted in the CAD:

    Leah Patterson Baker

    Romeo Smith

    Xavier Austin

  11. As I've said elsewhere I was also a fan of Heath and April. Given that the Heath Bianca relationship seems to be resurfacing I am starting to find that believable'. The Bianca of her early relationships with the Prince and later with Liam rather annoyed me. She seemed self absorbed, shallow and unable to sustain a relationship on any solid basis. Her experiences through the pregnancy and its aftermath have been well written and the fact that they would cause the quite far reaching changes in her attitudes to life and people seems believable to me.

I always thought Heath loved Bianca as an almost out of reach women who seemed to embody many of the things that he thought he would never be worthy of. I give April a lot of credit for starting the change in Heath. She had the capacity to make him think and consider his actions without just resorting to violence and aggression. The pregnancy and later death of Rocco continued that process.

I think the first few months of 2013 will be interesting and I'll be interested to see just how the writers will deal with Heath and Bianca.

  12. I guess I should be used to couples I like randomly breaking up but I do think these two had a lot of potential that seemed to get strangled at birth. And, indeed, still do:Personally I think Heath's a far better match for April than Dexter is.At times, it feels like there's a private shipping war going on in the writers' room:Some writers continue to portray them as having a close bond and make good use of their relationship, while others seem determined to bolster their preferred pairs by having April give out-of-character rants about how Heath never cared about her and could never be a good boyfriend. It's a shame that a lot of the on-screen stuff is one way:We had references to Heath supporting April while Dexter was in hospital but I'd like to have seen some of it.It's just a shame that those in charge seem determined not to have them together.

Interesting comments RR1. Looking back on the year I think the relationship between Heath and April would go into the "lost opportunity" category for me. It always intrigued me how April, despite her youth, relative small physical size, and almost fragility, seemed to constantly be able to stop Heath in his tracks and make him think. With her his usual "crash through" aproach to situations just didn't seem to be adequate.

I suppose that to some extent the opportunity still exists in her "little sister of his girlfriend" role but it won't have the added dimension of the physicality that their original relationship provided.
