Most Popular Couple-21-40

21. Lachie and Chloe - 17 points

As I sit here, where I am, which is here, typing out these blurbs that you probably don't read in the rush to see where your favourite couple finished, I was pretty well surprised, maybe even astounded to see Chloe and Lachie this high. This could possibly be because recently, two episodes featuring them were added to the multimedia section of the site, or maybe people just loved them, like they loved each other.

22. Edward and Peta - 16 points

One of Home and Away's most unique couples, as they left the show together and happy. I say together and happy, but it wasn't all joy because the reason that they left was because Edward was going to die. Of course, we are all going to die, but Edward was going to die soon. He had only spent 140 episodes on the show, which isn't a lot, but to be remembered so highly says a he made a lot of very little.

23. Michael and Pippa - 15 points

Michael is a kind of Tom Mk.II, except different. Actually Ryan really liked Michael, the epitome of what everyone should aim to be. Valued his foster son's life more than his own, just a shame his other foster son didn't feel the same way and left him to drown.

24. =Jesse and Josie - 14 points

JJ came together when it was fashionable for couples to share an initial. Jesse was left was a sense of deja vu when he decided to get married on a clifftop, but again ended up still single.

24. =Don and Marilyn - 14 points

Don and Marilyn were the only Home and Away clip on that show presented by Frank Butcher. That's how big they were. They were huge and not in the Julius Peters sense. Marilyn ran away about five times. Don must have wondered why he put himself through it.

26. =Dan and Leah - 13 points

Whilst most other characters in Home and Away are worried about stalkers and bombs because they are quite fond of their right arm and want to keep it, Dan and Leah become worried that the extended use of screentime given to such events might mean that they won't be able to fit in their weekly breaking up and getting back together. The couple might have proven more popular, had Vinnie not been Leah's soulmate and had this couple been formed before the character assassination of Leah from happy and bubbly to moaning and whiny.

26. =Steven and Selina - 13 points

This couple have been on and off and on and off, then on again for the past ten years. After starting a student/teacher affair, Steven was villianised and chased out of the bay. He then came back to reclaim her, but their wedding ended in disaster (no change there then). Many years later, Coral tore the heart and soul out of both characters for one line. Just one line!! DB fixed it.

28. Scott and Hayley - 12 points

The most popular of Hayley's 2005 partners (that's the partners she had in 2005, not that she had 2005 partners), so in a way the writers got it right, but then in so many other ways they got is so wrong. One half of the disaster that was Paternity!Gate, many felt that this couple (Noah's widow and his best mate) happened too soon after his death.

29. =Kim and Zoe - 9 points

And at the same time as the above couple, these two were getting on, though things didn't go to plan when their date was interrupted by the Summer Bay slasher. You've got to wonder how much Zoe loved Kim when she tried to blow him up...twice.

29. =Blake and Sophie - 9 points

Sort of like Selina and Steven. I think they're still together, but you can never be sure. Possibly one of the longest romances, if not relationships. They found a nice close to a long running story-arc in the 4000th episode.

29. =Will and Dani - 9 points

Uggh, yuck. As a pair of Will and Gypsy fans, it is our born objectives in life to completely dislike any of their other relationships. Actually, this one wasn't too bad. They both seemed to love each other, but Will loved Gypsy a bit more and Dani loved herself a bit more. In fact, Dani loved herself more than she loved anyone in the entire universe.

32. =Ric and Belle - 7 points

Ric and Belle's relationship appears to have just finished over here in the UK. Ric had broken up with Cassie, who thought that he was getting too close to Belle. But then Belle broke up with Ric because Belle thought that Ric was getting to close to Cassie, then Ric admitted he still loved Cassie and got back together with Cassie, whilst Belle was in a burning helicopter wreck. Bit messy, eh? This couple was fairly popular for a time, until Drew came along and the curse of the Golden Couple reared its ugly head. Again.

32. =Ric and Matilda - 7 points

A double dose of Ric at number 32. This friendship started when Ric returned to the Bay in 2005 and made all our hearts melt. There has always been the underlying inevitability that their relationship will develop into something more, what it was always meant to be.

34. =Paris and Irene - 6 points

Irene and Paris had quite a fan following at the time. Paris is after all, drop dead gorgeous. A relationship between an older woman and a much younger man is not always portrayed convincingly on TV, but this one was. Their very passionate pash over some paint pots is actually one of the best snog scenes ever seen on Home and Away. In fact, it is a surprise it passed the censors!

34. =Frank and Bobby - 6 points

Bobby and Frank were probably the Jack and Martha of their era, the difference being that Nicole Dickson (Bobby) was a great little actress, and Alex Papps (Frank) was not bad either. They did not live happily ever after, and Frank married, and then divorced Alf's daughter Roo. Bobby married a guy who looked like Steve Irwin but whose name is so memorable it totally escapes me, and she then got herself killed in a boating accident. Who said there's no such thing as Happily Ever After?

36. =Jack and Tasha - 5 points

One of Dan Bennett's thought processes that should have never made it to the screen. That's all Ryan has to say on the matter. Liz on the other hand, was more than welcome of the break from the mania that is J&M.

36. =Peter and Claire - 5 points

Peter and Claire got together after solving the Summer Bay Stalker case and when they both left the show in 2005, it was an engagees. When Peter returned it was under such a complicated series of events we don't have a bloody clue what happened to them.

36. =Henry and Cassie - 5 points

Somebody obviously saw something that we didn't see. All we saw was Henry, who looked about ten, with someone who looked old enough to be his mother, although it would have had to have been a teenage pregnancy. If anyone can explain their inclusion, please stand up.

36. =Jude and Shauna - 5 points

If Jude and Shauna were a David Hasselhoff song it would be "Looking for Freedom" since Shauna spent most of the time trying to get out of the engagement after announcing for it. If they were a Bealtes song they would be "Hey Jude".

36. =Peter and Jesse - 5 points

It's getting quite hard to keep writing about relationships that Ryan didn't notice himself, so he's going to stop. Liz on the other hand, is more than happy to volunteer the phrase, "Dripping In Subtext".
