Why did you make Sarah the shooter?

Did you decide to have Sarah as the shooter instead of Coral Drouyn's original idea of Scott Philips because it would make better TV or are you saving Scott for a future storyline?

When any Script Producer comes on board he or she wants to tell their own stories, not adopt the stories of another. But the main reason I did not want to do the Scott Phillips story was that I thought Kane and Kirsty had had their share of high drama for a while. I put them on the back burner a little, and focussed the story on Sarah's growing resentment towards a number of residents of Summer Bay. The story became everyone's story, a town terrorized by a drug-crazed woman, rather than a mainly Kane and Kirsty focussed story. Had Coral gone ahead with her story, I am sure it would have been good. Just different. I also wanted to do a story about the effects of the drug crystal meth and the character of Sarah allowed me to do this.
