Over the next couple of months, we're building you an entirely new Back to the Bay. We'll be giving the site's design a complete overhaul, combining a number of sections together to make things more simple to navigate, and making the site more interactive and fun. During this time, things are going to look just a little screwed up, as we put the changes into place across the various sections of the site. This page will allow to you to follow our progress, see what we've done so far and what else we've got left to do.
You may have noticed things looking rather strange over the past couple of weeks. First, many sections (such as News and Cast) got a rather basic new look, with a grey colour scheme and with no real coherence to the layout and design. Then, colour was added and things started looking just a little bit nicer (well, we think it looks nicer... hopefully you do too).
Now that a basic layout and design has been agreed on, we can work on spreading it to the rest of the site over the coming weeks. This will happen on a section by section basis, and may result in parts of various sections having our new design, parts having our old design. But rest assured, everything will slowly come together.
However, this project involves more than just giving the site a lick of paint. One of the brand new features of Project Surgeonfish will be the ability to rate features on how interesting you find them. This will allow us to find out what people like and dislike about the site, and help us make features better in the future. You'll be able to sort content based on its rating, so you'll be able to quickly find out what people like and view our most popular content before anything else. We'll also be adding the ability for you to vote for other things, like Characters, so we can get a feel of who people like and who people don't.
The Forum will also be moving to a different system, and will get a brand new look, bringing it in line with the new look main website. The two will be more closely integrated, with information on the latest main site updates appearing on the forum homepage, among other changes.

We're in the process of creating a brand new look Back to the Bay to freshen things up, clear out the clutter and add some features as we go. Apologies for how long it's taking and how much of the site is looking rather peculiar as a result, but rest assured we're making progress and the new look will be complete within the next few weeks.
