Welcome to yet another exciting edition of the Back to the Bay editorial.
So, what did May bring at Back to the Bay? Well, as promised, we revealed the results of Home and Away's Most Popular Villain. Angie Russell took the lead with time to spare, winning the poll almost 100 points ahead of our second most popular villain, Eve Jacobson It seems Angie's memory is far from forgotten, years after her dramatic exit from the bay.
Three of Home and Away's ex-Script Producers (Coral Droun, Daniel Bennett and Bevan Lee) were kind enough to provide their thoughts on our top 3 most popular villains, making the feature even more of an interesting read. Laurie Foell even took time out to express her delight at being voted #1. The poll was a great success, so thanks to everyone who voted.
Last month also saw many of our character profiles receive detailed updates (Johnny, Rocco and Sally), and even more receive brief updates to bring them in line with UK episodes. This month, we'll be bringing you even more profile updates, as we work towards our goal of ensuring all our profiles for current UK and Australian characters are detailed and up to date. Expect updates for characters such as Irene and Amanda to follow shortly, with more over the course of the month.
Last month, we asked you to submit questions to be set to Debra Lawrance, who played Pippa Fletcher/Ross on the show from 1990 onwards. Fingers crossed, June will see the results of that interview, so check back regularly for an in depth look at the woman behind one of Home and Away's best loved characters. And who knows, maybe we have more secret interviews under our sleeves. The only way you'll find out is by checking back. =P
Other upcoming updates in June include a selection of videos of Home and Away's opening titles from over the years, the final wedding video, the usual UK episode summaries and exclusive previews of Australian storylines, as well as some content so new we haven't even thought it up yet.
See you next month!
Chris

I'm very pleased to announce that we have managed to secure an interview with the one and only Debra Lawrance, who played Pippa Fletcher/Ross on the show from 1990 onwards. We're very honoured to have been given this fantastic opportunity and are very grateful for Debra to agreeing to the interview!
So this is your chance to ask Debra any questions you may have about her experiences of playing the original matriarch of the show on and off for the past 17 years.
If you have any questions that you would like to ask Debra, then please post them here or email them to me at dan@backtothebay.net - all questions need to be received before next Saturday (12th May)

Is it really May already? 1/3 of the year has already passed us by in what feels like no time at all.
April brought with it a number of changes to the site, such as a revamped Multimedia section and Features index page. The Multimedia section has been completely cleaned out and sorted through, and now contains a number of older video clips which disappeared from the site over the years. We also fixed many broken links, so if you were having trouble downloading some of the clips from the site, chances are they'll now work as they should.
We also added a number of new features, including Yearly Highlights, listing the various major events and storylines from years gone by. The 2000 season is currently up, with more seasons to be added soon. We also added Also Starring In..., allowing you to quickly find out where else you can see your favourite current Home and Away stars. It will be regularly updated as new cast projects are announced.
So, what can you expect from Back to the Bay in May? Well, as promised, we've started to reveal the results of our Most Popular Villain poll, and the results will continue to be revealed throughout May. Just who will be announced as Home and Away's most evil characters ever? As for what else we'll be bringing you, well, it's a closely guarded secret! The sceptics among you may suspect that we simply haven't planned the rest of our content for May yet... but we're simply trying to entice you back to the site on a daily basis by not revealing our plans ;)
Anyway, those of you in the right place in the world, enjoy the bank holiday. Those of you elsewhere, enjoy business as usual. Keep checking back daily for the latest Home and Away news, gossip and features, and I'll be back with another editorial next month.
Chris,
Back to the Bay

We've just completed a major upgrade to our News section. It is now known as 'News and Spoilers', and as the name suggests, it now also contains the latest Home and Away spoilers.
If you wish to remain spoiler free, that's no problem. Articles containing spoilers aren't shown by default. To display spoilers, click 'View Spoilers' in the blue bar at the top of most pages in the News section. You can quickly hide them again by clicking 'Turn Off Spoilers' in the coloured bar that replaces it.
The upgraded section will now be regularly updated with the latest information on Arrivals and Departures as well as spoilers on upcoming Storylines. If you don't want to know, just keep the spoilers turned off.
The changes are still being completed, so some pages may look unusual or still use the old design for the next few hours.

Welcome to March, and happy St David's Day to our Welsh visitors.
February has seen a revival for Back to the Bay. After months of very few updates, February saw the site updated on 25 out of 28 days, making it the most updated month in our site's history. Strange how it should come in the shortest month of the year. So, what does March bring? Profiles, Villains, Episodes, Signed Scripts and more. Read on for more details.
Did you know, our Message Board just got a complete revamp, and continues to be the largest and most popular place to discuss the show? Head over there now and start chatting with over 7000 members.

Yes, yes, we've yet another new look. But don't worry, nothing has moved, and the site's as easy to use as ever before.
You'll notice our homepage has increased in width. We were starting to have trouble fitting all of our content into the old homepage, and it was starting to get very cluttered and squashed. The extra space has allowed us to fit more in, hopefully without making everything too cluttered. It's not definitely staying, it depends whether you guys like it or not. If you don't, if you find it too wide or still too cluttered, we'll have another go at changing things around.
The rest of the site is the same as ever - only the header has changed. We've tidied up the header with a fresh new design, as the images of the credits were slightly messy. Everything from the very top down is exactly the same as it was before, don't panic.
What do you think of the new look homepage? Tell us.
Anyway, enjoy. We've plenty more content to bring you, and aim to continue to bring you almost daily updates for quite a while to come.

Well, due to a billing problem, our forum is currently offline. I'm currently trying to sort the problem out with the hosts, but unfortunately their billing team isn't responding as quickly as one would hope.
The problem will hopefully be sorted by Tuesday evening (GMT), and a temporary forum will be set up as soon as possible to give you all somewhere to hang out until then.
Sorry for the inconvenience. This is totally out of my hands.
Chris
The Forum's back online. =)

The forum is in a normal and stable condition again, after our earlier problems. Appologies to anybody affected.
It seemed the forum became infected with a virus earlier this week. I'm unaware as to how serious it was, as I managed to avoid being infected. It doesn't appear to have affected Firefox users, but might have affected Internet Explorer users accessing the forum today. If you think you may have risked infection, please run a virus checker as soon as possible.
