Chris Egan cast in supernatural drama ‘Dominion’

Chris Egan, the former Home and Away star who played Nick Smith from 2000-2003, has been cast in Dominion, a new pilot from US science fiction channel SyFy.

The ‘ssupernatural action drama’s is based on the characters from the 2010 feature film Legion, and is ‘sset 25 years in the future after a war between an army of angels and mankind has transformed the world’s.

Chris plays Alex Lannen, a solider with a rebellious and protective streak, who discovers he is the unlikely saviour of humanity. Hollywood Reporter describes his character as “a grunt soldier in Archangel Corp but destined for more than his lowly classification in Vega’ss post-Extermination War society might indicate.”

Dominion is directed by Scott Stewart, who co-wrote and directed Legion, and the pilot is due to begin filming later in September in Cape Town, South Africa.

Since leaving Home and Away in 2003, Egan has started in pilots Pretty/Handsome, Poe, Beauty and the Beast and Gothica, as well as films Resident Evil: Extinction and Eragon. He is also set to play Dorian Grey in the TV movie Gothica, starring alongside fellow ex-Home and Away star Melissa George (Angel Parrish).
