Picture Preview – H&A in Melbourne

Here are the first pictures of the upcoming storyline where we see Home and Away take a trip over to Melbourne. Usually the domain of its rival soap Neighbours, the show spent a week in September with actors Josh Quong Tart (Miles), Esther Anderson (Charlie) and Celeste Dodwell (Melody), shooting the scenes which will air in early February.

It is the first time that the show has filmed in Melbourne, and the visit was widely reported in the media at the time. Producer Cameron Welsh stated “We are all excited about
‘sHome and Away’s coming to Melbourne – we have a great storyline and we look forward to shooting in some fantastic locations and working with some of the local Melbourne acting community
.”

The visit also coincided with Josh’ss 33rd birthday, and former Melbourne resident Esther took him out on the town to repay Josh for doing the same when she first moved to Sydney. “I have been flat out filming and I forgot that it even was my birthday,” he said at the time. “So I will have to make up for it on Friday night. Esther is a local so I have a good guide and we will head out for some drinks.

The storyline sees a disturbed Melody ending up on the streets of the city after running away from home. Miles and Charlie later follow in hot pursuit, joining forces with Charlie’ss contacts in the city.

Melody befriends street-kid Archie, but has to face harsh realities when her belongings are stolen. Running away from gangs and being threatened with broken bottles, will Miles and Charlie track her down in time in a world where its survival of the fittest?

Australian H&A viewers will get their first glimpse of the city on Friday 6th Feburary, in which Melody wanders over the King Street Bridge, taking in the fire display on the nearby Crown Casino Complex. Other locations over the following week include the Queen Victoria Market, St Kilda and the Docklands.
