Home and Away is one of the most complained-about shows on Austrailan television, official figures show.
Figures released today by the body which oversees commercial TV in Australia reveal that Home and Away was the 8th most complained about program on Aussie TV, and the only drama in the top ten complaint list.
The commercial television industry's Annual Code Complaint Report shows that, in figures released for the period of 1 July 2005 to 30 June 2006, there were 23 written complaints received about episodes and promotions for Home and Away, mostly concerning story lines considered inappropriate for the 7pm timeslot and drug references.
Home and Away's complaints were topped by Seven's Today Tonight with 95 complaints, followed by Ten's notorious Big Brother Uncut with 60. These are followed by Seven News, Ten News, the Ronnie Johns Half Hour, Sunrise, Australia's Funniest Home Videos, and then Home and Away.
