Did nobody have any thoughts on this one? I just wondered as Gwen was like Australian Royalty and Doris Peters was certainly mentioned ??

In the Pilot the late great Gwen Plumb played the much talked about and then never seen Doris Peters. I know Gwen played the part written for her of Mum Foote on Richmond Hill which is why we didn’t see her appear as Doris during Season One. I wonder why Gwen didn’t resurrect the role once Richmond Hill finished. The character of Doris was always being mentioned. Was Fiona Spence brought in as Celia Stewart as a replacement and therefore they decided not to ask Gwen back?

Channel 5 have today confirmed that from January 2016 they will be head to head with Australia with Neighbours and will show the same episode in the UK as Australia. To me this is fantastic news; next question? When will they do this with Home and Away? The old excuse of a long Christmas break has gone by the wayside as it now takes a break over Christmas anyway? Is there any feasible reason why Home and Away can;t be head to head as well?

We need Morag back with a credible storyline; maybe a long-term storyline that keeps her there over several months like we have had in the past. I am sure if the writers wanted to they could find a semi-regular role for Cornelia where she comes and goes; with only little gaps that way it is a welcome return for her or even have her take over a property in the bay where we see her regularly.

Any news on any possible return?

I said a while ago on another post that it is highly unlikely we will see Cornelia back in the programme anytime soon. It is a shame as the way the built Morag up again from 2004 to 2008 was very good and lengthy stints too. After 2008 her appearances were less and the stint to cover Ray Meagher's absence was not the Morag we all knew an loved; she was a background character. It looks like Lucy Addario is like Posie Jacobs. Posie Jacobs axed Cornelia from Sons and Daughters; a role where Cornelia as Barbara Hamilton had a long-term regular stint slightly longer than her original stint as Morag as a permanent character; however Posie axed her along with another list of popular characters. Home and Away has always had a mixture of core young and mature characters; even here in the UK Hollyaoks has a young cast but has older characters too. It is time for someone to actually make Seven look at what is happening and say; have a mix and bring back Cornelia and other mature actors. I know for a fact that the younger actors like Cornelia; well they did the ones that are still there.

Would I be right in thinking we have seen the last of Morag on Home and Away and the last of the brilliant Cornelia Frances? It has been January 2013 since she last appeared and unless anyone has heard of recent filing it will be a full two years without an appearance by the time 2015 arrives.

Any news of a possible return by Cornelia; it has been a full year since we last saw her and that was for what one episode during 2013?

To be honest I think I watched maybe one or two episodes since it came back after the summer break here in the UK. The storylines and lack of great characters such as Morag have made me switch off. If we are going to take an even longer break in the UK than Australia and a similar length at Christmas we may as well be head to head with Australia which I have said all along

They could get Alexandra Fowler (Angela from Sons and Daughters) to play Debra as she is the age that the character should be. It would be interesting Cornelia playing her older sister rather than kind of stepmother as in Sons and Daughters. It is about time they brought in a few more veterans to Home and Away. They used to be really good at it in the early days. They could even bring in Anne Tenney (Real life wife of Shane Withington) and she could be his one and off screen interest. It may be the best way forward to save veteran audiences as well as the younger audiences.

I do not remember a mention of Debra Stewart even in the early days. I knew about Morag, Celia and Barbara but when has Debra actually been mentioned?
