  1. I would love to include Martin & Lance in your 'Most Popular Character' awards Edward but sadly I seem to be their only fan Lance and Martin were a couple of my favourites too, as I've already said many times... Most members who discuss the early years are fans of Lance and Martin, so you're not alone, not sure how you got that impression. Martin & Lance, to me, represent all that's good about TEY and all that's wrong with 2012 (and the immediate decade prior). Well, I must say I'm heartened by these responses of support for the Gruesome Twosome....I must've only seen generally negative responses about them when I've solicited opinions about them previously.... Perhaps I'll stop whining now
  2. I would love to include Martin & Lance in your 'Most Popular Character' awards Edward but sadly I seem to be their only fan I liked Lance and Martin too, I just don't feel the need to mention them in every post I make Yes, I do get a bit carried away at times talking about the Gruesome Twosome

  4. Marty & Lance, hear this - you're wanted back in the Bay to liven the place up!!!
  5. Andrew Foley - Counsellor Extraordinaire. Long before any of the current crop of Summer Bay High teens were even a thought in their parent's minds, kids were confiding in Andrew. Like Grant Mitchell later on, Andrew was an adult who was hip and could speak their language. He was also very caring and amusing. Please share your thoughts on Andrew Foley. What was it that you liked/disliked about him??? What stories of his do you remember?? Perhaps his relationship with Carly and later Stacey Macklin?? His run-ins with Morag over the Youth Centre??? Or perhaps his father's death?? Come on, let's hear it!!!
  6. Mike Baldwin dying in Ken Barlow's arms - possibly one of the most touching Corrie scenes ever....
  7. At the momment it truly is.. Glad to hear that someone else agrees!!! The show has really lost it's way - if Alf, Colleen, Marilyn and possibly Irene all left, I would not waste my time watching it.....
  8. Edward, I haven't seen these episodes since they first aired but from memory they do stay in the house for awhile yet....I don't want to spoil but I have a fair idea what happens next..... Yes maciam, H&A ain't what it used to be, it's no fun anymore and it really needs characters like Marty, Lance, Vinnie, Adam & Matt..... I still watch it now but H&A TEY is much better in my opinion....
  9. Well it's now the last decade of the twentieth century and things are beginning to change in the Bay. In recent times the likes of Marty, Lance, Celia, Tom and Viv have vacated. But filling the void rather nicely are the new tenants of the Beachhouse - Matt Wilson, Adam Cameron and Marilyn Chambers!!!! Don't be shy, spill the beans on your fave Matt/Adam/Maz moments!!! Flea bombs, chicken pox and Ernie Jacobs - well this is just the beginning
  10. He had more brains than Lance, but that's not saying a lot! Lance and Martin play a huge part in my enjoyment of the show during the early years. Great double act and I particularly liked their storylines during 1988. I hate to be so cynical and I hope I'm wrong, but I get the feeling the writers wanted to keep that daft threesome with Maz but wanted to shift their brains up a gear as well as introduce more actors who could be seen as 'hot/sexy' with the abs and surfing etc So Lance and Martin got the chop sadly. That's not to say I don't like Matt and Adam - the two of them with Maz are brilliant. I reckon the current show would greatly benefit from the Martin/Lance type character. Vinnie also proved to be really popular and he was very similar to Martin, they shared some good scenes when Martin returned for Sally's wedding. I also really liked how the writers had him stick around for a couple of weeks if I'm not mistaken (as they did Lance a few months earlier) rather than just a few days. I totally agree with you, what I would give for Martin and Labce's return in 2012.... And Vinnie is one of my faves in the latter series because of his 'Martin Dibblish' ways (although they developed his character much further than they ever did Martin).... I think they've somewhat 'dumbed down' Adam recently to fill the gap of Marty & Lance leaving. Adam looked much more intelligent in his early days..... Summer Bay is just not the same anymore, I can't watch it with the same level of enjoyment. Someone suggested that Dex provides the comic relief role at times but it's not on the same scale.....
  11. Entrepreneur. Rock Star. Stud. Legend. I cannot believe that H&A fans have overlooked Martin 'Legend' Dibble in the Character/Actor forum. I therefore felt compelled to add the character that kept me glued to H&A back in the early days. To some he was a village idiot. But the Lothario of Summer Bay was a rock star with Image, an entrepreneur and most importantly he was Lance Smart's best friend. Not many people in Summer Bay can lay claim to these facts What are your favourite Martin (and Lance) moments? What did you like/dislike about Martin? How sad did you feel at his departure, hopping onto the bus to join the army and leaving poor Lance to fend for himself? Please share your thoughts....
  12. Sons & Daughters...on 7Two just before the early years H&A!!!
  13. I'd love to know if anybody has a genuine, authentic autograph of Craig Thomson (Martin Dibble) or Peter Vroom (Lance Smart)....if you do, you're going to make me extremely jealous
