On the Crest of a Wave

Over the years, there have been references to the content of this book, at times such as when it appeared on the HSC syllabus, when Seb was obsessively poring over it, and when it was being made into a movie. To a lesser extent, the same can be said of Letter to Byron.

Obviously, nobody would actually have sat down and 'wrote' out the story, and the copies used on the show are just dummies. However, since the references have been made over the years, does anyone know if there would be some kind of established plot/characters for it in a HAA writers' bible? Would there be any sort of basic plan to ensure consistency when the book's story is referred to, or would it be a case of writers making up whatever suits the HAA storyline of the day?

I think the writers make it up as they go along haha

If it was in a character's bible, I assume it would be largely related to Fisher's backstory - given it was Alan's autobiography, particularly focusing on his tenuous relationship with his father.

I liked that movie storyline in 1999. It was great to have it being mentioned again as well as many older characters. Vinnie was desperate to play the Alan character. And Marilyn gave the most awful audition. Fun times.
