Well it is standard industry practice, and anyone can see that - these channels only hold the broadcasting rights for their own territory. To make it available for those worldwide would either encroach on the rights that other broadcasters have paid for, or damage the prospect of actually gaining money from the sale of the programme in other countries.

Whether or not broadcasters in other countries actually choose to buy the rights for old episodes, or even bother to repeat older episodes they do have the rights for, is a different matter - but it's not Seven that are at fault for international viewers missing out in this case.

Though why it's being talked about in this thread I don't know, and publicly discussing options to get round it will only further bring it to the attention of TPTB.
