On Thursday, Sally arrives at school to find Gloria standing near the lockers.

Gloria: Hi Sally.

Sally: Oh, hi.

Gloria: How are you?

Sally: I'm good. How are you?

Gloria: I'm good thanks.

*an awkward silence descends*

Sally: Well, I'll see you in class.

Gloria: You too.

*Sally finds Kate outside*

Sally: Kate!

Kate: Hey Sal. Come here.

*Sally and Kate hug*

Sally: Guess who said hello to me?

Kate: Who?

Sally: Gloria.

*Kate pulls a face*

Kate: What did SHE want?!

Sally: I think she was trying to be nice.

Kate: I wouldn't buy it, Sal. She's just a fake bitch like her new best friend Julia.

Sally: Kate?

Kate: Yeah?

Sally: Can I ask you something?

Kate: Sure.

Sally: Why did you tell me that your dad died of cancer when he was outside watering the garden.

Kate: Oh, that's my stepfather. I just call him 'Dad' out of respect.

Sally: I see.

Kate: I'm sorry that I made out that I was lying.

Sally: No, no. It's okay. I was just making sure.

Kate: That's good then. *laughs lightly*

*the bell rings*

Sally: Let's go to class.

Kate: Good idea.

Later that day, Sally and Kate arrive in English class to find that their teacher has made seating arrangements.

Miss Nelson: Sally, you'll be sitting with Gloria.

*Kate looks furious*

Kate: No, she's not. She's sitting with me!

Miss Nelson: Kate, you will be sitting with Nicole.

Kate: No, I'm not!

Miss Nelson: Just do as you're told!

Kate: I am within my rights to sit with my best friend. At least I'm a better friend to Sally then this bimbo! *angrily points at Gloria*

*Gloria rolls her eyes*

Miss Nelson: I have made this seating arrangement, Kate. Now, stop whinging and sit down!

*Kate slaps Miss Nelson very hard across the face*

Class: Ooooh!

Miss Nelson: *through clenched teeth* Get out!

*Kate storms out of class, slamming the door behind her*

Sally: I've never seen Kate this angry.

Gloria: She's a spoiled brat. Just saying.

Sally: I know.

*Sally and Gloria look at each other*

Gloria: I'm moving to the city around Christmas.

Sally: Really?

Gloria: Yes, I am.

Sally: Which school are you going to?

Gloria: Hartley High.

Sally: Oh, that's cool. *smiles*

*Gloria manages to smile back*

(Outside, Kate is being lectured by Miss Nelson.)

Miss Nelson: I will not tolerate such behaviour in my classroom!

Kate: I was within my rights to sit with my best friend!

Miss Nelson: Listen to me, Kate! I made those seating arrangements because I felt it was best for my class. If you don't like the rules, then perhaps you'd like to talk with Mr Fisher about it.

Kate: You public servant! *laughs*

Miss Nelson: That's it, Kate. I've had just about enough of your attitude. Report to my classroom at 3 o'clock for detention.

Kate: Whatever. *leaves*

Miss Nelson: KATE DESMOND!

*Miss Nelson sighs*

During lunch break, Sally and Kate are outside the oval when Angel Brooks approaches them.

Angel: Hey Sal.

Kate: Um, who are you? *looks disinterested*

Angel: Angel Brooks.

Kate: Well, Angel. Sally and I are having a private discussion, so spread your wings and fly away.

Sally: Kate, that's not very nice!

Kate: Her name is Angel, isn't it? Tell you what, Sal. Go buy yourself a packet of chips. My shout. *hands her some coins*

Sally: Thanks. See ya, Angel. *leaves*

Angel: You really are a rude cow!

Kate: I'll take that as a compliment. *smirks*

Angel: You know something?

Kate: What's that?

Angel: You're just like Kym!

Kate: Don't you dare compare me to her! I don't use and abuse people like her!

Angel: Sally happens to be a good friend of mine and she's allowed to have other friends.

Kate: I don't want her being friends with a bimbo like you!

Angel: Oh, you are asking for it!

*As Angel goes to hit Kate, Shane Parrish sees*

Shane: Angel, what are you doing?

Angel: Trying to teach this cow some manners!

Shane: She's not worth it.

*Shane leads Angel away*

Kate: Go fly away now! *laughs*

*Sally returns from the canteen*

Sally: Where'd Angel go?

Kate: She went off with some guy.

Sally: That must be her boyfriend, Shane.

Kate: I see. *turns away from Sally and grins*

Sally: What?

Kate: You just gave me a great idea.

*Sally looks at Kate who is grinning from ear to ear*

At the surf club that afternoon, Sally is talking to Jodi.

Sally: Kate was really angry today. She slapped Miss Nelson because I had to sit with Gloria as part of the new seating arrangement in our English class.

Jodi: Sally, I really dislike this Kate girl. She seems too controlling.

Sally: She's not that bad.

Jodi: I saw her causing trouble here with Gloria last night.

Sally: What happened?

Jodi: She went to slap Gloria, but she managed to grab her wrists in time.

Sally: Oh. *looks sad*

Jodi: You miss Gloria, don't you?

Sally: I miss our friendship, but I was so selfish.

Jodi: You sure were.

Sally: I don't know what I saw in Craig and Kym. I really don't.

Jodi: They used you.

Sally: I know that now. I like being best friends with Kate though.

Jodi: But you miss being best friends with Gloria.

Sally: Yes.

Jodi: I'm sure you two will be best friends again one day. It may not be the same now, but along the track the trust will begin to grow again.

Sally: Thanks, Jodi.

Jodi: We have our differences, but I still love ya. You're my foster sister after all. *smiles*

*Sally smiles back*

Kate: Sal?

*Sally turns around to find Kate standing there*

Sally: Hey.

Kate: I've been waiting for you at the diner.

Sally: Sorry, I had to see Jodi first.

Kate: It's okay. Hey Jodi.

Jodi: *fake nice* Hello, Kate.

Sally: I thought you had detention with Miss Nelson.

Kate: I didn't go. She can go get stuffed for all I care!

Sally: You wanna go to the diner?

Kate: Sure.

*Sally and Kate leave*

Sally: By the way, what was your great idea?

Kate: Oh that... *laughs*

(Outside the Bayside Diner, Angel and Shane are arguing.)

Shane: I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU TOLD TUG THAT I DRESS LIKE A SLOB!

Angel: I never said anything to Tug!

Shane: Oh, right. You must've told Sarah then!

Angel: Shane, where is this coming from?!

Shane: Our date tonight is off! *storms past Sally and Kate*

Kate: *whispering to Sally* THAT was my great idea!

Sally: Causing Shane and Angel to fight?

Kate: He deserves much better than that bimbo!

*Angel storms over to Kate*

Angel: If I were you Sally, I'd go inside!

Sally: Okay. *to Kate* I'll meet you in the diner.

Kate: Okay, Sal.

*Sally leaves*

Angel: I hope you're proud of yourself!

Kate: *innocently* I don't know what you're talking about.

Angel: Oh, yes you do! You've been spreading malicious gossip about me to MY boyfriend!

*Kate smirks*

Kate: So what if I did? He deserves better! In fact, he told me that you were a lousy kisser!

Angel: You are such a lying bitch, Kate! I also happen to know what you've been doing to Gloria and Julia and I DON'T like it one bit!

Kate: I do what I want, when I want! And what I want is to protect Sally from being friends with filthy bimbos like YOU!

*Kate pushes Angel over before walking away*

Angel: *shouting* YOU'LL GET YOURS!

At Gloria's house, she is talking to Julia.

Gloria: I have decided to give Sal another chance.

Julia: Why?

Gloria: I really miss her and talking to her today made me rethink things.

Julia: You know what?

Gloria: Yeah?

Julia: I'm going to give Sally another chance too.

Gloria: But if we talk to her, Crazy Kate will go off at us.

Julia: Kate needs professional help!

Gloria: I agree with you on that one. You know what she did today in English?

Julia: What?

Gloria: She threw a hissy fit over Miss Nelson's new seating arrangement and decided to slap her.

Julia: What a cow!

Gloria: I know. And she called Miss Nelson a public servant.

Julia: That is so rude!

Gloria: I know.

Julia: I wish you didn't have to move away. I'd rather Kate leave than you.

Gloria: I know, but Mum got a promotion. Plus, I'll be going to Hartley High.

Julia: That is so cool! I'll miss you though.

Gloria: But will Sally miss me? *looks sad*

*Julia puts her arm around Gloria*

Julia: I'm sure she will.

Gloria: I hope so.

The following Monday, Sally is sitting next to Kate during the school assembly.

Fisher: If I can have your attention please.

*the students settle down*

Fisher: Thank you. Now, Miss Miller would like to make an announcement.

*Roxanne gets up on the stand*

Roxanne: Guys, our annual school camp is coming up next week. Miss Nelson and I have decided that we'll be staying in Canberra this year.

*some students clap*

Roxanne: If any of you are interested in going, please get a note from either myself or Miss Nelson before Friday.

*Nicole Mullins raises her hand*

Roxanne: Yes, Nicole?

Nicole: When are we going?

Roxanne: We're leaving next Thursday and coming back on Friday.

*Kate rolls her eyes*

Kate: *to Sally* She is SO annoying!

Sally: Why?

Kate: She just is.

(Once assembly is over, Sally and Kate head to English class.)

Kate: Oh, great! We have the worst English teacher ever.

Sally: She's not that bad.

Kate: AND I have to sit next to Nicole Mullins. *pulls a face*

Sally: I wonder what Miss Nelson's gonna say about you not showing up to detention last Thursday?

Kate: I don't care what the cow has to say.

*Sally and Kate enter the classroom to find Miss Nelson at her desk*

Miss Nelson: Kate, a word please.

*Kate rolls her eyes*

Kate: What?

Miss Nelson: Since you failed to show up to your afternoon detention on Thursday, you'll be staying back today.

Kate: I have a home to go to!

Miss Nelson: I understand that we have homes to return to, but we also must attend detention too.

Kate: And what are you gonna do? Ban me from going to the Canberra camp?

Miss Nelson: If you fail to show up this time, yes I will.

Kate: Fine. I'll show up. *rolls her eyes*

Miss Nelson: Good. You may sit down.

*Kate sits next to Nicole*

(Meanwhile, Sally is talking to Gloria.)

Sally: So, are you going to Canberra?

Gloria: I don't know yet. How about you?

Sally: I really want to go.

Gloria: But you're worried if Pippa doesn't have the money.

Sally: Yes.

Gloria: I hope we share a room together.

Sally: You do?

Gloria: That way maybe we can sort things out.

Sally: I like the sound of that. *smiles*

*Gloria smiles back*

When Kate finishes her detention that afternoon, she meets up with Sally at the surf club.

Kate: I'm so glad that detention is over! It was a waste of time!

Sally: Have you decided on going to Canberra?

Kate: Yeah, I'm going. Are you?

Sally: Yes. Pippa gave me the final nod.

Kate: That's awesome!

Sally: Come here, best friend of mine.

*Kate hugs Sally as Nicole Mullins walks in*

Nicole: Hey Sal.

*Kate glares at Nicole*

Kate: Um, we're busy. Go away!

Nicole: I'm allowed to be here, so shut up!

Kate: I'd watch what I'd say if I were you.

Nicole: You don't scare me, Kate! In fact, you're an amateur compared to Tug O'Neale!

*Kate looks aghast*

Kate: No one talks to me like that and gets away with it!

Nicole: Oh really? *to Sally* I'd be careful of her, Sal. She might turn all your friends against each other.

*Sally looks embarrassed as Kate continues to get angry*

Kate: HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME OF TRYING TO TURN SAL'S FRIENDS AGAINST HER! YOU'RE JUST LIKE THAT LOSER GLORIA JAMES!

*Finlay storms over*

Finlay: That's enough!

Kate: She started it, Finlay. *points at Nicole*

Finlay: Don't give me that, Kate! I saw the whole thing!

Kate: *to Sally* She needs to grow up!

Finlay: Right, get out!

Kate: That wasn't aimed at you!

Finlay: I don't care! You WILL get out before I throw you out myself! Get going!

*Kate storms off*

Finlay: And you, come with me! *points at Sally*

*Sally looks shocked*

Sally: Sure.

*Sally goes over to the kiosk*

Finlay: Kate is worse than Kym and Craig's mob. She's dangerous.

Sally: I'm starting to think you're right.

*Finlay hugs Sally*

On Tuesday, Sally is getting ready to go to school when Finlay enters the bedroom.

Finlay: You got everything?

Sally: Yeah, I do. I'm just waiting for Kate to arrive. We're walking to school together.

Finlay: *tensely* I see.

Sally: Fin...

Finlay: Look, I know what you're trying to say Sally but I can see it with my own eyes. Kate is a user and a manipulator just like Craig and Kym.

Sally: But she's been loyal to me.

Finlay: What about Gloria?

Sally: We're slowly starting to talk again.

Finlay: Go back to being best friends with her.

*Sally looks doubtful*

Finlay: I know it's hard, but you have to trust me on this one.

Sally: I guess you're right.

Finlay: I'll tell you what, why don't we go for a milkshake at the diner this afternoon?

Sally: Don't you have to be at the Surf Club?

Finlay: No, Damian's doing his shift today.

Sally: Oh. Well, okay.

Finlay: I knew you'd say yes.

*Sally manages to smile*

Sally and Kate arrive at school a few minutes later.

Kate: Is Finlay mad at me about yesterday?

Sally: I wouldn't say she's mad at you. Just annoyed.

Kate: You know that comment wasn't directed at her, right?

Sally: I know.

Kate: I can't stand Nicole. She's annoying.

*Sally just nods her head*

Kate: Oh, there's Gloria. *pulls a disgusted face*

Sally: Kate, please don't cause trouble.

Kate: I won't. But if she says something smart, I will put her in her place.

*Gloria waves at Sally*

Sally: Hi Gloria.

Kate: Don't wave at her.

Gloria: And why not?

Kate: You wanted nothing to do with her when I arrived and now all of a sudden you want to wave and be friendly?

Gloria: Get lost!

Kate: Do you forget who you're talking to? I can easily ruin your life...just like that! *clicks her fingers*

Gloria: I'm not scared of you, Crazy Kate.

Kate: WHAT did you just call me?! *shoves Gloria against the lockers*

Gloria: Crazy Kate! Are you deaf or something?!

*Sally runs off as Roxanne storms over*

Roxanne: What's going on here?

Kate: *lying* Nothing, Miss. I was just debating politics with Gloria.

*Gloria looks like she's about to cry*

Roxanne: Right, Kate. You can come with me.

*Kate rolls her eyes before walking with Roxanne*

Nicole: You okay, Gloria?

Gloria: I'm okay. Just a bit shaken.

Nicole: Why'd Sal run off?

Gloria: She was scared.

Nicole: I hope she's okay.

Gloria: Me too.

(Later that day, Sally and Kate are in HSIE with Mrs Tomasich.)

Gloria: Mrs Tomasich?

Mrs Tomasich: Yes, Gloria?

Gloria: May I go to the bathroom?

Mrs Tomasich: Sure.

*Gloria leaves*

Kate: *loudly* Try not to wet your pants, Gloria!

*some of the class laugh as Gloria glares at Kate*

Mrs Tomasich: Kate, that comment wasn't necessary!

Kate: I didn't ask you for your opinion, Miss.

Mrs Tomasich: Sally, can I get you to sit with someone else please?

Kate: Don't do it, Sally!

Mrs Tomasich: EXCUSE ME?! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE THROWING YOUR WEIGHT AROUND LIKE THAT?! I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR BEHAVIOUR, KATE!

Kate: F*** OFF! I DIDN'T ASK YOU!

Mrs Tomasich: GET OUT! I'LL SEE YOU AT THE END OF THE LESSON!

*Kate storms out of the room and slams the door behind her*

Nicole: What a nutcase! Come sit with me, Sal.

*Sally sits with Nicole*

Sally: Her behaviour is embarrassing.

Nicole: She needs professional help!

(In the ladies bathroom, Kate goes in to hear Gloria and Julia talking.)

Julia: That bitch scares me.

Gloria: She's so rude! I just feel sorry for poor Sal.

Julia: Have you and her sorted things out yet?

Gloria: I hope we get to share the same room so we can wipe the slate clean.

Julia: If Crazy Kate is going to Canberra, I'm not going.

Gloria: I'm so glad I'll be going to Hartley High next year. I can get away from that demented freak!

Julia: I just hope she doesn't come near me when you leave.

Gloria: I hope she doesn't.

*Rather than have a go at them, Kate just smirks*

Kate: *thinking* You're finished, Gloria.

Sally meets Finlay at the diner after school as promised.

Sally: Hey.

Finlay: Hey Sal. How was school?

Sally: I'll tell you all about it.

Finlay: I take it you didn't have a good day.

Sally: Kate went off at Mrs Tomasich.

Finlay: Why?

Sally: Because she told me to sit with someone else in HSIE.

*Finlay looks annoyed*

Finlay: That girl is too domineering and possessive.

Sally: But she's a good friend.

Finlay: She may be to you, but not to your other friends. Oh, here's your milkshake. *hands Sally her milkshake*

Sally: Thanks, Fin.

*Sally and Finlay drink their milkshakes*

(Meanwhile at her house, Kate is looking through the Yellow Pages.)

Kate: Hartley High. Ah, found it.

*Kate dials the number*

Kate: Ah, yes. May I speak with Jim Deloraine please? Well, could you put me through to the acting principal please? Thank you.

*After a few seconds, Ronnie answers the phone*

Ronnie: Good afternoon, Rhonda Brooks.

Kate: Hi, Rhonda. My name is Sally Fletcher and I was wondering if I could talk to you about someone that's going to enrol at your school next year.

Ronnie: Okay. May I ask who this concerns?

Kate: Her name is Gloria James. I must warn you that she's a violent and dangerous individual that needs to be locked away in a detention centre.

Ronnie: What is your point, Sally?

Kate: My point is. She has threatened to stab one of the other students and throws her weight around like there's no tomorrow. The principal has even threatened to expel her.

Ronnie: I see.

Kate: I'm worried that she'll murder one of the students.

Ronnie: But when I met Gloria last week, she seemed so friendly and eager to be starting at Hartley.

Kate: Oh, that's a façade. You'll get to see her for the violent misfit that she is.

Ronnie: Sally, are you telling me the truth about Gloria James?

Kate: I wouldn't be ringing you if I didn't.

Ronnie: Okay. Thanks for your call. I really appreciate it.

Kate: Thank you, Rhonda. You enjoy your night. Goodbye.

*Kate hangs up the phone and laughs*

Kate: Oh, Gloria. You'll regret trying to be friends with Sally again. *smirks*

When Gloria arrives home later that afternoon, her mother is standing in the kitchen looking concerned.

Gloria: Hi Mum.

Mrs James: Gloria, I need to talk to you. Sit down.

*Gloria sits down*

Gloria: Is something wrong?

Mrs James: Yes. You know Rhonda Brooks from Hartley High?

Gloria: Yeah. Isn't she the acting principal?

Mrs James: She rang here about an hour ago to tell me that she's reconsidering your application to Hartley.

*Gloria looks shocked*

Gloria: Why?

Mrs James: Apparently, your violent and dangerous. I told her that was rubbish and that you would never hurt a fly.

Gloria: Who would do such a thing?

Mrs James: Sally Fletcher.

Gloria: Are you serious?!

Mrs James: I'm afraid so. Rhonda confirmed that it was Sally that rang her.

*Gloria looks angry*

Gloria: So I may not be allowed to go to Hartley High because of Sally?!

Mrs James: Come here, sweetheart.

*Gloria hugs her mother*

The next morning, Gloria arrives at school to find Sally at her locker.

Gloria: I want to talk to you!

Sally: What's wrong?

Gloria: I was wrong to give you another chance! You are nothing but a malicious, spoiled little brat! Thanks to you, my chances to start at Hartley High are zero to none!

Sally: I don't know what you're talking about.

Gloria: DON'T LIE TO ME, SALLY! I THOUGHT WE WERE ON OUR WAY TO BE FRIENDS AGAIN, BUT YOU DELIVERED THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL!

Sally: Gloria, I really don't know what you're talking about.

Gloria: JUST KEEP LYING, SALLY!

Sally: I'm not lying!

Gloria: YOU KNOW WHAT? I'M NEVER GOING TO BE FRIENDS WITH YOU AGAIN! I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU AFTER WHAT YOU SAID TO RHONDA BROOKS ON THE PHONE! HOW COULD YOU BETRAY ME LIKE THAT? THEN AGAIN, I'M NOT SURPRISED! YOU NEVER WERE MY BEST FRIEND TO BEGIN WITH!

*Sally is about to cry*

Gloria: FROM NOW ON, JUST STAY AWAY FROM ME! *storms off*

*Kate arrives when she sees Gloria storm off and Sally starting to cry*

Kate: *to herself* Oh no.

(It gets worse later that morning in English class.)

Julia: How could you do that to someone, Sally?!

Nicole: Yeah. Gloria was really looking forward to starting at Hartley High and YOU ruined everything!

Sally: I didn't do it.

*Julia rolls her eyes*

Julia: As if we'd believe anything you say anymore.

*Kate looks guilty*

Sally: I'm telling you that I didn't do it. I don't even know the number of Hartley High.

*Everyone moves to one side of the room leaving Sally and Kate sitting on their own*

Sally: *about to cry* Can I be excused, Miss?

Miss Nelson: I think that's a good idea. *glares at the whole class*

Gloria: SNITCH!

*The class laughs as Sally walks out of class*

Kate: You're all a bunch of pathetic losers!

Nicole: Shut up, Kate!

*Kate smacks Nicole in the face before leaving the room*

Miss Nelson: Are you alright, Nicole?

Nicole: That hurt.

*Kate goes into the ladies room and locks herself in a toilet stall where she begins to cry*

Kate: I'm sorry, Sally.

*Angel happens to hear this and goes over to Sarah Thompson*

Angel: Have you seen Sally?

Sarah: Yeah, she looked upset.

Angel: Where did she go?

Sarah: I think she went that way. *points to the back*

Angel: Thank you. *walks off*

*A few minutes later, Angel returns*

Sarah: Did you find her?

Angel: Nope. She must've went home.

Kate: Is Sally okay?

*Angel glares viciously at Kate*

Angel: WHAT DO YOU THINK, KATE?!

Kate: I, um....

Angel: SALLY DIDN'T RING THAT SCHOOL GLORIA WAS GOING TO, WAS SHE?! IT WAS YOU!

Kate: I d-didn't mean t-to h-hurt Sally....

Angel: HOW COULD YOU USE YOUR BEST FRIEND LIKE THAT?!

*Kate starts sobbing*

Angel: When I tell Sally, you're history! *walks off*

*Kate sobs even harder*

Meanwhile, Jodi is in Yabbie Creek having a check up at the hospital.

Doctor: I have some good news for you, Jodi.

Jodi: What's that?

Doctor: You're pregnant.

*Jodi looks shocked and surprised*

Jodi: Really?

Doctor: You're six weeks pregnant.

Jodi: But how could that be possible? I didn't...*realises*

Doctor: Are you okay?

Jodi: Uh, yes. I'm fine. *looks shocked*

(When Jodi arrives home, she finds Sally looking depressed.)

Jodi: What's wrong, Sal?

Sally: It's Gloria. She hates my guts.

Jodi: What happened?

Sally: She accused me of ringing up the principal of that school she's going to and telling lies about her.

Jodi: You would never do such a thing.

Sally: Makes me wonder who really did it.

Jodi: I have one guess.

Sally: Kate?

Jodi: I'm afraid so.

Sally: You look shocked yourself.

Jodi: Let's just say that I'm screwed.

Sally: What do you mean?

Jodi: I just found out that I'm pregnant as a result of that one night stand with Tug.

Sally: Are you sure?

Jodi: Yes, I'm positive. Sarah's going to kill me.

Sally: Congratulations.

Jodi: Thanks, but I don't feel like being congratulated.

Sally: I think we both need a hug.

*Jodi and Sally hug*

That afternoon, Angel goes to the surf club and sees Gloria at the pool table with Nicole.

Angel: Gloria?

Gloria: Hey Angel.

Angel: I need to talk to you about something important.

Gloria: What's it about?

Angel: It's rather important.

Gloria: *to Nicole* Wait for me.

*Gloria and Angel sit down at a table*

Angel: I don't know how to say this, but...

Gloria: Does this concern me?

Angel: You know how you thought Sally was the one that phoned Hartley High and told the principal that nasty stuff about you. It wasn't her.

Gloria: Do you have any proof?

Angel: I do.

Gloria: Who was it?

Angel: Kate Desmond.

*Gloria is furious*

Gloria: Crazy Kate?!

Angel: That's right. She used Sally like a fool!

Gloria: Oh my god! *feels bad*

*Kate walks in at this point*

Angel: Here comes the problem!

Gloria: YOU!

Kate: Yes, it was me. That'll teach you to be friends with Sally again. *smirks*

*Gloria slaps Kate so hard that she falls on the ground*

Gloria: You are a crazy bitch! *storms out*

Kate: Couldn't wait to tell her, aye Brooks?! *holds her cheek*

Angel: You deserve everything you get, Kate!

Nicole: I agree!

*Angel and Nicole leave Kate alone*

Gloria finds Sally outside the caravan park.

Gloria: Sal, can we talk?

Sally: Why?

Gloria: I need you to listen to me, please. I just found out that it wasn't you that rung up Hartley High.

Sally: Oh, you did? *looks unimpressed*

Gloria: I just want to say that I'm really sorry for yelling at you at school today and for accusing you of doing something you wouldn't do.

Sally: Take your apology and shove it!

Gloria: Sally? *looks shocked*

Sally: No, Gloria. I actually thought we were going to be friends again. Yes, I screwed up with the whole situation with Kym and Craig, but I would NEVER do something like that do you!

Gloria: Can't we please talk about this?

Sally: Forget it, Gloria. You wanted me to stay away from you? Congratulations, you've got your wish! *storms inside the house*

*Gloria starts to cry*

(Pippa sees Sally storm inside.)

Pippa: Sal, what's going on?

Sally: *crying* I don't want to talk about it! *runs upstairs*

*Pippa looks sad as she hears Sally cry and her bedroom door slam*

Kate: Mrs Fletcher?

*Pippa looks around to see Kate standing there*

Pippa: Oh, hello Kate. Sal's a bit upset at the moment so...

Kate: No, it's okay. I've come to talk to her anyway.

*Kate goes upstairs to find Sally crying in her bed*

Kate: Sally?

Sally: Go away!

Kate: Please don't push me away. I'm your best friend, remember?

Sally: If you were my best friend, you wouldn't do what you did to Gloria!

Kate: How did you...

Sally: I will say this once and once only, Kate Desmond. Did you use my name to sabotage Gloria's enrolment at Hartley High?

*Kate looks guilty*

Kate: I'm sorry.

Sally: How could you do that to me?

Kate: *now crying* Sally, I didn't mean to hurt you. I only did it to stop Gloria being friends with you again. I'm so sorry.

Sally: Get out!

Kate: But Sally...

Sally: I said get out!

*Kate leaves Sally's bedroom as Pippa enters*

Pippa: You okay, sweetheart?

Sally: Pippa, I'm so alone.

*Pippa hugs a crying Sally*

At the beach, Kate is sitting on the sand crying her eyes out.

Kate: I'm so sorry, Sally. I just hope you forgive me.

At school the next morning (Thursday), Kate approaches Sally outside the oval.

Kate: Can we talk, Sally?

Sally: No.

Kate: I just want to say that I'm really sorry for doing that to you. You didn't deserve it.

Sally: I didn't.

Kate: Can we start over?

Sally: Leave me alone, Kate.

Kate: But Sally...

Sally: Leave me alone!

*Angel comes over*

Angel: Is everything okay, Sal?

Sally: No, it's not. *walks away*
Kate: Sally!

Angel: She wants nothing to do with you, okay!

Kate: WHO ASKED YOU?!

*Angel slaps Kate across the face*

Angel: I did! *storms off*

*Kate holds her cheek in pain*

(In HSIE, Sally sits with Nicole Mullins.)

Kate: Sally, come sit with me please.

Mrs Tomasich: Kate.

Kate: *slightly aggravated* What?

Mrs Tomasich: Sally is sitting with Nicole.

Kate: But I want her to sit next to me!

Nicole: Shut up, Kate!

*Kate flips Nicole the bird*

Mrs Tomasich: Kate, that is not on!

Kate: I am sick of being blamed for everything!

Nicole: Maybe if you didn't do such dreadful things to people, you wouldn't get the blame!

*Kate grabs her folder and storms out of class*

Sally: Thank god.

Nicole: I hope we see the last of her.

Mrs Tomasich: Right, back to work Year 8.

*The class resumes doing their work*

Later that day, Sally's period 4 class is English. Kate hasn't been seen since storming out of HSIE that morning.

Miss Nelson: Has anyone seen Kate Desmond?

Julia: She's probably having another hissy fit.

*the class laughs*

Miss Nelson: Thanks for your input, Julia.

*Gloria walks in*

Gloria: Sorry I'm late, Miss.

Miss Nelson: It's okay, Gloria. Take your seat. *smiles*

*As Gloria sits next to Sally, she moves up to the front row*

Miss Nelson: Sally, is something wrong?

Sally: I just want to sit up the front today. I don't want any distractions bothering me.

*Gloria looks sad*

Miss Nelson: Fair enough.

*10 minutes later, Kate arrives*

Miss Nelson: Why are you late, Desmond?

Kate: Because.

Miss Nelson: Because why?

Kate: Because I had some important stuff to do. It doesn't concern you in any way, shape or form!

Miss Nelson: *angrily* Sit down.

*Kate sits next to Nicole*

Nicole: Don't even talk to me.

Kate: Wouldn't dream of it, spaz!

Miss Nelson: That's enough, Kate!

Kate: SHE started it! *points at Nicole*

Miss Nelson: I don't care! SHUT UP!

*The class giggles as Kate glares at Miss Nelson*

(Meanwhile, Jodi is talking to Tug at the diner.)

Jodi: I've got some news to tell you.

Tug: What is it?

Jodi: Do you remember that party at the beach house and we had...you know?

Tug: Yeah. Sarah doesn't know, does she?

Jodi: I think she will now.

Tug: Why?

Jodi: I'm pregnant.

*Tug looks shocked*

Tug: Are you saying that I'm the father of the baby?

Jodi: Yeah, I am.

Tug: Oh man. Are you going to keep it?

Jodi: I really want to keep it.

Tug: I will be involved in its life.

Jodi: Should we tell Sarah?

Tug: No, I'll tell her. She's going to be real angry when she finds out.

Jodi: I know. *looks sad*

After school, Sally is on her way home when Kate follows her.

Kate: Sally, please talk to me.

Sally: What part of 'leave me alone' do you not understand?!

Kate: But...

Sally: I thought you were my best friend!

Kate: I am. I just wanted to get Gloria back, that's all.

Sally: So you used my name to cover your tracks! *sarcastically* That's so loyal of you!

Kate: I just didn't think at the time.

Sally: Whatever.

Kate: Are we still best friends?

Sally: I don't know, Kate.

Kate: What do you mean by that?

Sally: Right now, I'm so angry with you that I don't want to talk to you. I want you to leave me alone for a while. *walks off*

*Kate fights back tears*

Later that afternoon, Gloria is at her house watching TV when the phone rings.
Mrs James: I'll get that, sweetie.
Gloria: Okay, Mum. *smiles*
*Mrs James picks up the phone*
Mrs James: Hello?
Ronnie: *on the other end of the phone* Hello, Mrs James. It's Rhonda Brooks from Hartley High.
Mrs James: Hello there. I didn't expect a phone call from you.
Ronnie: I just want to apologise for believing those lies about Gloria. A girl named Angel explained the whole story to me.
Mrs James: It's okay.
Ronnie: Which is why I have decided to accept Gloria's enrolment at Hartley High next year.
Mrs James: That's great news.
Ronnie: Have a good night.
Mrs James: I sure will. Goodbye. *hangs up the phone*
Gloria: Who was that?
Mrs James: Rhonda Brooks. You're enrolment at Hartley High is secured.
*Gloria's face lights up*
Gloria: Really?
Mrs James: Yes, really.
Gloria: I'm so happy. *goes over to her mother and hugs her*
Mrs James: Rhonda realised that Sally didn't make the phone call.
Gloria: I know it wasn't Sal. It was Kate Desmond.
Mrs James: Is that so?!
Gloria: Yes.
*Mrs James looks angry*
Mrs James: Well, I'll see to it that Kate's parents are informed.

On Friday morning, Sally arrives at school to find Kate standing near her locker.
Kate: Sally, can we talk please?
Sally: What part of leave me alone do you not get, Kate?
Kate: I just want to explain myself.
Sally: Not interested. I have an excursion note to deliver.
Kate: You're going to the Canberra camp as well?
Sally: Yes, I am. Why?
Kate: I am too.
Sally: Great. *leaves in a hurry*
*Kate sighs sadly*
(That afternoon, Sally is walking home from school when she bumps into Alison Patterson)
Alison: Hey there, Sally. My, you've grown a few inches since I last saw you.
Sally: Alison Patterson?
Alison: That's me. *smiles*
Sally: How long has it been now?
Alison: Three or four years maybe. I've been so busy with my life that I don't get to see good old Summer Bay much.
Sally: I'm having a few problems of my own at the moment.
Alison: Tell me what's wrong.
Sally: You'll just make fun of me like to you did with Bobby and Carly.
Alison: I've changed, Sally. I'm not the bitch I used to be in high school. Now, spill the beans.
Sally: Someone who I thought was my best friend betrayed me. She did a nasty prank and blamed me for it.
Alison: That's awful.
Sally: I'm actually glad you're here, Alison.
Alison: Why?
Sally: Because you might be able to help me get through to Kate Desmond once and for all.
Alison: I'll try my best.
*Sally and Alison smile at each other*

Sally has invited Alison over to her house.
Sally: I'm back, Pippa.
Finlay: Pippa's gone to the store and Damian's doing his shift at the surf club. So, it's just me and Jodi. *notices Alison as she walks out of the kitchen* Oh, hello. You here to stay in one of the caravans?
Alison: Actually, no. I'm here to spend time with Sally.
Finlay: You're Alison Patterson, aren't you?
Alison: How did you know?
Finlay: Bobby used to tell me stories about you.
Alison: I send my condolences to Pippa and the family.
Finlay: I will pass them on to her.
*Jodi comes downstairs at this point*
Jodi: Fin, I'm going to clean the... *notices Alison* Hi, I'm Jodi Symons. You are?
Alison: I'm Alison Patterson. I know most of the locals here.
Jodi: Oh, that's right. Bobby mentioned you a few times. What brings you here?
Alison: I'm here to discuss Kate Desmond.
Finlay: What about her? *looks unhappy*
Alison: You don't look very impressed, uh...
Finlay: Finlay. You can call me Fin.
Alison: You don't like this Kate Desmond do you, Fin?
Finlay: Not one bit.
Jodi: She's a drama queen and a control freak.
Sally: She slapped our English teacher in the face because she wasn't allowed to sit next to me due to a new seating plan.
Alison: Looks like I have my work cut out for me here.
Jodi: Sal, what does Alison intend on doing to Kate?
Sally: Giving her a harsh reality check.
Finlay: Hope it works.
*Kate walks in at this point*
Kate: What's going on?
Alison: Are you Kate Desmond?
Kate: *scoffs* What's it to you?
*Alison walks over to Kate*
Alison: You don't know me, but I have heard a lot about you and quite frankly, I'm not happy with how you're behaving!
Kate: I really don't think that's any of your business, you nosy bitch!
Alison: Call me a bitch again and I'll rearrange your face!
Kate: *sarcastically* I'm shaking in my boots, fish face!
Alison: My name is Alison Patterson, not fish face!
Kate: Whatever. I'm gone! *storms off*
Jodi: Rude cow!
Alison: Don't worry. I'm not backing down.
(Later on, Sally heads over to Gloria's house, who happens to be in the front yard)
Sally: Hi.
Gloria: Hi.
Sally: Can we talk?
Gloria: Sure.
Sally: I'm sorry about the whole Craig and Kym situation. I was very selfish and mean.
Gloria: And I'm sorry for not believing you about the Hartley High saga when it was Kate that did it.
Sally: It's okay.
Gloria: I'll see you at school.
Sally: You will. Bye. *leaves*
*Gloria smiles a little*

At the Bayside Diner, Kate is sitting in the booth when Alison walks over.
Alison: I need to talk with you.
*Kate glares at Alison*
Kate: Oh, you’re that Alison woman. What do you want?!
Alison: I think you need to hear what I have to say.
Kate: Save your breath! I’m not interested! *leaves*
*Alison goes after Kate who is stomping towards the beach*
Alison: I think you're being very selfish!
*Kate faces Alison angrily*
Kate: WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW?!
Alison: Because I was just like you once. I used to be popular at school but I let the popularity get into my head and became a bitch. I lost friends because of how I chose to behave. Hell, I even lost my best friend Donna Bishop because my friends bullied her. I did some malicious things in high school and I had to reap what I sown. I made fun of someone because they were raped as a result of hitchhiking, I constantly bullied Bobby Simpson because of her apperance and I've done a lot of other dreadful things. When I left Summer Bay, I made damn sure to change my act and apologise to all the people that I hurt over the years.
Kate: *sarcastically* Poor you.
Alison: You don't get it, do you?! You've lost Sally as your best friend and now you're causing trouble for her friends. You need to wake up to yourself and stop behaving like a preschooler! If you choose not to, everyone in Summer Bay will dislike you! Now, if I were you I'd go to a mirror and take a long hard look at yourself!
*Kate stands here with a shocked expression as Alison walks away*

Sally arrives at school on Monday to find Kym (who has come back from suspension) standing near her locker.
Kym: G'day Sally. I'm back.
Sally: *in an unimpressed tone* I can see that.
Kym: It's such a shame that you and that bitch Kate are going to feel the wrath of me.
Sally: You're all talk, Kym.
Kym: I did say that I would make both your lives at school a living hell and I intend on doing so!
*Kate walks over*
Kate: Oh, god! It's you. *pulls a disgusted face at Kym*
Kym: It's so good to be back.
Kate: Is she bothering you, Sally?
Sally: Yes.
Kate: Clear off, bitch!
*Kym walks off with a sour look on her face*
Sally: Thanks for that.
Kate: You're welcome. *smiles*
*Sally manages to smile back*
(At the caravan park, Jodi is doing some aerobics in the living room when Sarah comes in)
Sarah: Hey Jodi.
Jodi: Oh. Sarah, hello. I didn't hear you come in.
Sarah: What are you doing?
Jodi: I'm doing aerobics with that new Aerobics Oz Style video tape I bought in Yabbie Creek.
Sarah: Nice. 
Jodi: I need to talk to you about something. It's important. 
Sarah: What is it?
Jodi: You know that party Tug threw at the beach house that night?
Sarah: What about it?
Jodi: We...made love.
*Sarah looks shocked*
Sarah: You what?
Jodi: And as a result of that one night stand, I'm pregnant.
*Sarah gasps in horror and sadness*
Jodi: I'm really sorry about this, Sarah. I didn't mean to hurt you.
Sarah: SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP, JODI! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO ME?! TUG'S GOING TO BE THE FATHER OF YOUR CHILD AND YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO TELL ME?! HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN?!
Jodi: I found it last week that I was six weeks pregnant.
*Sarah starts to cry*
Jodi: Tug still loves you, Sarah. We didn't mean for this to happen. *starts to choke up*
Sarah: I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIEND, JODI SYMONS!
Jodi: I am.
Sarah: NO! YOU'RE JUST A CHEAP S***!
Jodi: Sarah! *looks shocked*
Sarah: GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND TUG! *storms out*
*Jodi sits on the couch and starts sobbing uncontrollably*

After school that afternoon, Sally and Kate are on their way to the surf club.
Sally: I have never seen Sarah lose her cool before.
Kate: That Tug must've deserved it.
Sally: I just hope Jodi's okay.
*Kate lets out a smirk*
Kate: Oh, she'll be fine. *thinking to herself* You're life is going to be a misery, Jodi.
Sally: I hope so. Anyway, I'm glad we're best friends again.
Kate: Me too. *smiles*
(Meanwhile, a red Nissan Pulsar pulls into the caravan park. A woman gets out and sighs to herself. The woman is none other than Carly Lucini)
Carly: Welcome home, Carly.
