Episode 14

Later that day, Dorothy and the girls are sitting in the kitchen eating cheesecake.
Blanche: You all right, Dorothy?
Dorothy: I’ve just got a lot of things on my mind at the moment.
Rose: Is it because of what Helen Patterson did?
Dorothy: *sarcastically* No, Rose. It’s because Bette Midler was unable to bring her live tour to Australia!
*Rose just nods*
Blanche: Well, I think its unfair what Mr Bertram did to you, Dorothy.
Dorothy: Blanche, the man is the principal of Summer Bay High. I can’t just express my opinion like that.
Sophia: There, there pussycat. It’s not your fault.
Dorothy: Thanks Ma.
Sophia: Can I borrow $20?
Dorothy: No!
Sophia: Why not?
Dorothy: I gave you money yesterday.
*Sophia pouts as the doorbell rings*
Rose: What was that?
Dorothy: *sarcastically* The ice cream truck, Rose!
Rose: Really? Oh, I love ice cream!
Blanche: Honey, just answer the door.
*Rose opens the door to find a woman aged in her mid 30s standing there*
Lisa Johnston: Dorothy Zbornak?
Rose: No, I’m Rose Nylund.
*Dorothy, Blanche and Sophia walk over*
Dorothy: I’m Dorothy Zbornak. May I ask who you are?
Lisa: I’m Lisa Johnston from the Education Department. I wanted to talk to you about an incident involving Alison Patterson.
Sophia: I’m off to seniors, Dorothy. *to Lisa* If she bites you, call me.
Dorothy: MA!
*Sophia leaves*
Dorothy: Sorry about that, Miss Johnston. Ma’s 83 years-old. She’s still recovering from a stroke she had back in 1985.
Lisa: I see. *to Blanche* And who are you?
Blanche: I’m Blanche Devereaux.
Lisa: You’re very pretty.
Blanche: Why thank you. *smiles*
Lisa: Now let’s get down to business.
*Lisa sits next to Dorothy on the lounge*
Lisa: Miss Zbornak, I understand that there was an incident between you and Alison Patterson. Alison and her mother have told me their side of the story, but I would like to hear your version of what happened.
Dorothy: Miss Johnston, the minute I started teaching at Summer Bay High School, Alison Patterson has answered back to me, insulted me and criticised my role as an English and History teacher. Not only that, she bullies some students and gossips about everyone behind their back. For example, I was having my lunch in the staffroom when I overheard Alison make fun of Carly Morris for being a victim of rape.
*Lisa gasps in shock*
Lisa: You’re joking!
Dorothy: I wish I was. Anyway, Carly’s foster sister Lynn Davenport defended her and when Alison threatened to beat Lynn up, I stepped in and restored order. I then had a word with Alison and threatened her with suspension and even expulsion over what she said. She responded by storming off.
Lisa: I see. Has she spread any rumours about your roommates?
Blanche: If I may, Miss Johnston. I have been a victim of Alison’s gossiping. She kept calling me a s**t and made fun of my relationship with Donald Fisher.
Lisa: I see. Well, I’m on my way to the school now. Thanks for your information.
Dorothy: When will I hear anything back?
Lisa: We’ll keep in touch, Miss Zbornak. I know you didn’t do anything wrong.
Dorothy: Thank you.
*Lisa leaves*
Blanche: I hope we’ve nailed Alison.
Dorothy: So do I.

At Summer Bay High, Alison tries sitting next to Judith and Alyce in the canteen.
Alyce: Go away!
Alison: But I want to sit with you girls. We’re best friends remember.
Judith: WERE best friends! Alyce and I will not be best friends with someone that makes fun of a rape victim! Now rack off!
Alison: You’re both pathetic!
*Alison storms over to the table where Matt, Carly, Bobby and Roo are sitting*
Alison: Hi guys. May I sit with you?
Bobby: Let’s go get something from the store.
Matt: Good idea, Bobby.
Roo: Yeah. I could kill for a meat pie.
Carly: Same.
*they leave Alison sitting by herself*
Sandra: Hey Alison! Come sit with me and Steven.
*Alison goes over to them only for her get strawberry milk thrown on her dress!*
Alison: Sandra!
Steven: Nice one, Sandy! *laughs*
Sandra: We wouldn’t want a malicious bitch like you sitting with us! Is that right?
Students: Yeah!
*Alison grabs her tray and heads to the ladies room where two girls glare at her*
Girl 1: Oh look. It’s the mole that poked fun at Carly for being raped!
Girl 2: Not only that, she got Miss Zbornak kicked out of school. Pathetic lowlife!
*the girls storm off*
Alison: Takes one to know one!
*Alison locks herself in a toilet stall and eats her lunch in there*
(When lunch is over, Alison heads to her next class when she sees Mr Bertram, Mr Fisher and Lisa Johnston talking.)
Mr Bertram: Ah, Miss Patterson. Come into my office. We need to talk.
*Alison looks annoyed*

Episode 15

Alison is in Mr Bertram’s office with Mr Fisher, Lisa Johnston and the headmaster himself.
Alison: Mr Bertram, what is this about?
Mr Bertram: Miss Johnston and I are quite concerned that your story isn’t adding up.
Alison: I’m sorry?
Lisa: I’ve spoken to Miss Zbornak and she told me that she never threatened you.
Alison: Yes she did!
Lisa: And I have also spoken with Lynn Davenport as well as your best friends Judith Staples and Alyce Davis. Their version of what happened matches what Miss Zbornak told me!
Fisher: Are you lying, Alison?
Alison: No! Miss Zbornak threatened me! She has been out to get me ever since she started teaching here!
Lisa: If that’s the case, then WHY did you make fun of Carly Morris’s tragic ordeal?!
Alison: I never did.
Mr Bertram: Tell the truth, Alison!
Alison: So, I made a joke! No big deal!
*Lisa sees red*
Lisa: No big deal?! Alison Patterson, people that are victims of rape are pretty traumatised by what happened to them that some don’t report them to the police in fear of being attacked again!
Fisher: Miss Zbornak’s teaching career is on the line right now. Do you really want to ruin her career?
*Alison realises that she’s lost the battle*
Alison: FINE! Miss Zbornak never threatened me! She only told me that if I ever picked on a rape victim again, I’d be either suspended or expelled!
Lisa: I see. You can take over from here, Mr Bertram. I’ve got a phone call to make. *glares at Alison as she leaves the office*
Alison: So what happens now?
*Mr Bertram and Fisher look at each other*
Mr Bertram: We think it’s best that you leave.
Alison: In other words, I’m expelled.
Mr Bertram: I never said that you were expelled. I just think it may be in your best interests that you leave Summer Bay High and start fresh a new high school.
Fisher: And Yabbie Creek High won’t take you. They have a lack of enrolment numbers.
*Alison sighs angrily*

At the house, Dorothy is on the phone to Lisa.
Dorothy: Yes, thank you so much. Okay. Goodbye. *hangs up the phone*
Blanche: Well, what happened? Tell us, Dorothy.
Dorothy: I’m back at school on Monday.
Rose: Dorothy, that’s great news!
Dorothy: Alison admitted to everything.
Blanche: It serves her right. The insolent little brat!
Dorothy: This calls for a celebration. Let’s go to the RSL for dinner tonight.
Rose: What do they sell?
Dorothy: *sarcastically* Kentucky Fried Chicken, Rose.
Blanche: I’m off.
Rose: Where are you going?
Blanche: Off to Yabbie Creek to do some shopping.
Rose: Will you back in time for dinner?
Dorothy: *sarcastically* No, Rose. She’s going to a motel with Paul Hogan!
*Rose nods her head*
Blanche: I’ll be back later this afternoon. Bye girls. *leaves*
Dorothy/Rose: Bye Blanche.
(At the senior citizens centre, Sophia is playing cards with some of the ladies when Betty Fulwell approaches her.)
Betty: Oh Sophia! This is killing me! I fell down a flight of stairs and hurt my knee, my oven blew up, my car won’t start and half of my clothes don’t fit! Take the curse off, please!
Sophia: Will you apologise to me?
Betty: I’m sorry. I won’t be selfish anymore. Please, remove this curse off me!
Sophia: Fair enough, Betty.
*Sophia removes the curse*
Sophia: You may go now.
Betty: Oh thank you. *leaves*
Sophia: *to the women she’s playing cards with* Never mess with Sophia Petrillo.
*they resume playing cards*
(Back at Summer Bay High, Alison is cleaning out her locker when Alyce and Judith approach her.)
Judith: I hear you’re leaving. Such a shame.
Alison: No thanks to my so-called best friends! I take it you really enjoyed throwing me under the bus to that bitch from the Education Department!
Alyce: You deserved it after the way you treated Miss Zbornak and Carly!
Alison: You’re both pathetic! I’m glad to be leaving this dump of a school!
*Alison slams her locker door shut*
Judith: We won’t miss you.
Alyce: That’s right. Neither will anyone else.
*Alison grabs her belongings and storms off. As she turns towards the corridor, several students glare at her*
Bobby: See ya later scrag!
Matt: Yeah, it was nice knowing you!
Roo: Bitch!
*Alison stops in her tracks when she sees Carly*
Alison: Carly, I’m…
Carly: You deserve this!
*Carly slaps Alison hard across the face as the students cheer loudly*
Carly: I feel so much better now. Let’s go guys.
*Carly and the students walk away, leaving Alison completely alone*

In Yabbie Creek, Blanche is carrying an armful of shopping bags with her when she sees a pregnant teenager waiting for a bus.
Blanche: ‘Scuse me?
Sue: Yes?
Blanche: Is everything okay?
Sue: No. My parents have kicked me out!
Blanche: Why honey?
Sue: They found out I’m pregnant. *cries*
Blanche: Oh congratulations honey. You shouldn’t be upset.
Sue: They made me feel so ashamed.
*Blanche puts her arm around her*
Sue: I’ve got nowhere else to go now.
Blanche: Where are you planning on going to?
Sue: The city.
Blanche: Now honey, a girl of your age shouldn’t be alone in the city.
Sue: But, it’s what I know.
Blanche: Have you been to Summer Bay before?
Sue: A few times. Why?
Blanche: That’s where I live.
*Sue wipes away her tears*
Sue: That’s great. What’s your name?
Blanche: Blanche Devereaux. What about yours?
Sue: My name is Sue Carter.
Blanche: Well, Sue. How would you like to stay at my house for a while?
Sue: You don’t mind?
Blanche: Of course not. I live with my roommates and we’re all mothers. *smiles*
Sue: Thanks. Do you need help with those bags?
Blanche: My, you’ve got some good manners.
Sue: I sure do. *smiles*
Blanche: By the way, how many months are you now?
Sue: Four.
Blanche: I’m sure you’ll be a great mother.
*Blanche and Sue head to the car*
(At the general store, Rose has arrived for work when she sees Celia at the front counter.)
Celia: Oh good afternoon Rose. How are you today?
Rose: I’m very good, Cecelia. How are you?
Celia: Oh, it’s Celia dear. And I’m doing really well.
*Rose smiles*
Celia: I’ve been waiting for Ailsa to come back from Alfred’s.
Rose: Come to buy anything?
Celia: Just a carton of milk. You see, I’ve run out of some.
Rose: Just the one carton?
Celia: Yes please.
*Alison storms in*
Alison: A cappuccino please.
Rose: Get out of this shop, Alison.
Alison: I’m within my rights to buy a cappuccino!
Rose: After the way you treated Dorothy, you lost all rights to be a customer in this shop!
Alison: Look. I just want a cappuccino. Is that too much to ask?!
Rose: Goodbye Alison.
Alison: Fine! Be like that!
*Alison storms out of the shop*
Celia: What a rude girl!
Rose: Tell me about it.

Later that afternoon, Alison is putting her suitcase into her father’s car when she sees Dorothy walk past.
Alison: Well, Miss Zbornak. You’ll be delighted to know that I’m leaving Summer Bay.
Dorothy: Good. Where are you off to?
Alison: If you must know, I’m going to live with an aunt down in Armidale. Hopefully, I’ll meet some people that won’t ruin my lives like you did!
Dorothy: Now, hold on a second Alison! I didn’t ruin your life. You brought everything on yourself. And let me tell you something, you are NOT a victim! You choose to bully others because you get a great pleasure from it. If you continue to bully others, then you’ll have no friends and be lonely for the rest of your life.
*Alison fights back tears*
Alison: Is that all?
Dorothy: Yes, that’s all I have to say. *walks away*
*Alison stands there crying*

Librarian Note:

This fiction has been moved to the Vault because it has been exactly five (5) months since the author has last posted a chapter for this fiction.

I will have the next episode up on Wednesday :)

Five months is sufficient time for all authors to post the next chapter in one's fiction. If an author is having troubles with this concept then maybe one has published too many fictions on this forum in order to keep up with the continuing demands of updating one's fictions?

Might it be an idea to make note of all the fictions one has published and add to them within the five months time frame of when one has last posted their last chapter... and refrain from publishing new fictions until one has completed the majority of ongoing fictions already published.

Episode 16

Blanche arrives home with Sue.

Blanche: This is my house, Sue.
Sue: It looks very nice.
Blanche: I’m glad you think so.
Sue: No, really. I think it’s very nice.
*Blanche smiles*
Sue: Where are your roommates?
Blanche: They should be home soon.
*Sophia arrives home at this point and notices Sue*
Sophia: What is this? Teen Moms Australia?
Blanche: Oh, Sophia! *to Sue* Don’t take any notice of that little old lady.
Sophia: Little? At least I’m wise like Yoda from Star Wars.
*Sophia walks away*
Sue: She always like that?
Blanche: Once you get to know Sophia, you’ll discover that she’s a sweet lady deep down.
*Dorothy enters*
Dorothy: Great news! Alison Patterson has left town!
Blanche: Really? What happened?
Dorothy: She’s going to be living with her Aunt in Armidale.
Blanche: Good riddance! That girl was nothing but a troublemaking little bitch. Summer Bay is well rid of nasty people like her!
*Dorothy notices Sue staring at her*
Dorothy: And who are you?
Sue: Sue Carter.
Dorothy: I’m Dorothy Zbornak.
*they shake hands*
Blanche: Dorothy, Sue will be staying with us for a while.
Dorothy: Blanche, where is she going to sleep?
Blanche: She insisted on sleeping on the couch.
Dorothy: That will not be happening, Blanche. *to Sue* Sue, you can sleep in my room.
Sue: Are you sure?
Dorothy: No problem. I’ll sleep with Ma in her room.
Sue: Thank you, Dorothy.
*Rose enters*
Rose: Can you believe the nerve of that Alison Patterson?
Blanche: Oh, what’s she done now?! *rolls her eyes*
Rose: She wanted to buy a cappuccino from the store and I refused to serve her after the way she treated Dorothy. She then gave me an attitude and stormed out!
Blanche: Rude bitch!
Dorothy: How about we go out for dinner tonight?
Rose: What's the occasion?
Dorothy: *sarcastically* To celebrate the release of 'Beaches', Rose!
Blanche: You know I actually don't feel like cooking myself. Why don't we go down to the RSL and have dinner there?
Rose: That's a great idea, Blanche.
Dorothy: Ah, I just realized that I forgot to get the milk. I'll be right back. *leaves*
Sue: Are you women like sisters or something?
Blanche: I guess you could say that. *smiles*
Rose: I’m Rose Nylund by the way.
Sue: Sue Carter. *smiles*

At the general store, Judith and Alyce are hanging out when Helen storms over to them.
Helen: Well, I hope you girls are proud of yourselves!
Alyce: I’m sorry?
Helen: You girls were meant to be Alison’s friends and yet you threw her under the bus to that wrench from the Education Department, causing her to get expelled from Summer Bay High!
Judith: Alison brought this on herself, Mrs Patterson! She’s nothing but a mean, disrespectful bitch!
Helen: You….you….YOU!
*Helen slaps Judith as Dorothy enters!*
Dorothy: What the hell is going on here?!
Helen: Mind your bloody business, Zbornak!
Dorothy: I will not! How dare you slap a minor!
Helen: But…
Dorothy: OH BUT, BUT, BUT! IF YOU SAY ‘BUT’ ONE MORE TIME, I’LL PERSONALLY THROW YOU OUT THAT DOOR! UNDERSTOOD?!
*Helen just nods her head*
Dorothy: I think I now know why Alison behaves the way she does! Like mother, like daughter!
*Helen looks flabbergasted as Judith and Alyce try not to laugh!*
Helen: How…but…uh…
Dorothy: Just go home and accept the fact that you have a troublemaking bitch for a daughter!
*Helen leaves the shop in a hurry!*
Alyce: You sure told her, Mrs Zbornak!
Dorothy: You girls, alright?
Judith: We’re fine. Thanks for sticking up for us, Mrs Z.
Dorothy: No problem.
*Dorothy leaves Judith and Alyce to it before going over to the fridge and getting the milk*

COMING SOON
- The girls have dinner at the RSL
- Sue has a row with her mother over the phone, which sees Blanche tell Mrs Carter off!
