It's quite common and is a way of minimizing complaints (If they announce they are removing a show they will be flooded with complaints. If they quietly remove it with vague promises it will continue, in time people will forget about it and they will get less negative feedback). The fact that it's been removed for seemingly no reason is for me cause for concern. Edit to add - in fact I just found out 7 did this very thing when they originally repeated the Early Years back in 1999. Whilst the teen group that we should see coming in in the latter half of 1996 aren't as well-remembered as their predecessors, I agree that there's a lot of good stuff in that period. My thinking wasn't so much about the quality of the episodes as the fact that this period is seen as something of an end of an era so might be viewed as a natural stopping point. Interesting idea, they are noted down as repeats though so I'm not sure. Still, it'd be an odd choice to bump Early Years when there's so many other repeats of arguably less significance on the channel (even more so if the other MDM ep showing later in the day ends up being the same one). As I know they have repeated 1988-1990 quite a few times and some of the other early seasons, but I'm not sure about late 1996 or the following seasons. Not in Australia furthest we got was Episode #623 (September 1990) back in May 2002 pretty sure UK Living showed late 1996 - 98 (?) between 2001-02 so they would still have been on analog tape thing is though when they repeated 1988- now how did they not ensure the entire catalogue of analog episodes were digitised? do they not have people that do that for them?
