I always found Debra's Pippa to be colder. I'm not sure why... Debra's Pippa is the first Pippa I remember - so she should be the one I'm fondest of - but after seeing Vanessa's Pippa I feel like she nailed the part: she was warm and loving but could be tough when she needed to be. Especially in 1989 and 1990 I feel she got more material with which to develop.

Pippa seemed way colder in 1996/7/8 judging by the online clips, maybe that's because she'd been through so much.

Bring back Pippa I say! Miss the old girl!

Debra has won Hell's Kitchen Australia. I think I read something a few months ago about her saying she has no desire to return to H&A. Unless I was confused with Kate Ritchie but Debra says it is a totally different show to when she was in it and it is no longer the family friendly show it was. I stand up and applaud what she said about the current show.

She said she would be willing for a guest role but not a regular role since she now lives in Melbourne and her kids are in Melbourne.

She never said she dislikes the show but she said it's changed. But she understands that people don't want to watch simple family matters storylines  at prime time

Thanks

I thought I was the only person who thought this. I recently started watching some old episodes and the difference between the actresses is like night and day. Debra is a great actress but I find her to be respectfully "too much" for the role. It's a shame that Vanessa left however I'm not sure if her and Michael would've had the same same chemistry as her and Tom.

I think Vanessa's Pippa and Michael would be cute together.

I prefer Debra's Pippa because this was the Pippa I can remember watching growing up. I see both Pippas being very caring and maternal, with Vanessa's Pippa being "cooler" and for want of a better expression, "down with the kids", and Debra's Pippa being like an earth mother and very mumsy, even down to the floral dresses she always wore. If I was a character on the show and I was upset about something and I wanted to confide in someone, it would be Debra's Pippa. I think she gives off the most warmth, so I'm surprised to hear that some people think that she could be cold.
