Features - So Zoe's the Stalker?

So, the girl we knew and loved as bubbly Zoe McCalister is actually the Summer Bay Stalker! Who would have thought? Anyway, just incase you missed any of Zoe/Eve's dramatic revelation in Tuesday's episode, let's run through the reasons behind the whole situation.

Sarah Lewis began terrorising Summer Bay after she suspected them of killing her lover Felix Walters. Sarah herself was in fact the killer, but drugs had caused her to completely forget this, and she wanted revenge! After shooting Jesse McGregor in the head, Sarah Lewis was captured and sent to a mental institute to try and help her recover. It was there she met a woman called Eve Jacobson.

Eve, who we've come to know as Zoe McCalister, was Sarah's carer at the institute. Sarah started out as just another case for Eve, but as she and Sarah got talking, they grew closer and soon fell in love. Sarah told Eve that she loved her the way she loved Felix, and it was then that trouble began!

Eve saw past Sarah's crazy exterior, and saw the kind and gentle woman inside. She realised that Sarah needed to be freed, she needed to be let back into the world. So, she hatched a plan to let Sarah escape. While caring for her, Eve let Sarah out, before running to her management screaming claims that Sarah had broken free!

Unfortunately for Eve, things didn't quite work out as planned. Sarah took Summer Bay hostage in a dramatic episode last year, and the situation ended in tragedy when she shot Noah Lawson, before turning the gun on herself. Eve broke down when she heard the news, and soon started to hatch a plan to get revenge on Summer Bay - after all, if the town had never killed Felix, Sarah would never have been sent to the institute, and she would still have been alive!

Fortunately for Eve, a peculiar coincidence made getting revenge far easier than she had imagined. After the news of Sarah's death reached her, Eve went alone to a bar to drown her sorrows. It was there that she met Zoe McCallister, a young black-haired nurse of a similar age. Zoe had recently got a job at Yabbie Creek Hospital, and just so happened to be planning to move to Summer Bay. Eve couldn't believe her luck, and set her plan in action. She spent weeks with Zoe, learning everything she could about her - all about her family and friends, what she was like and how she lived. She planned to steal Zoe's identity, and needed to know as much about her as she possibly could.

She discovered that Zoe had no close family, and only a few close friends back in Perth. This was perfect, as it meant nobody would immediately miss her if she were to disappear. Eve and Zoe became so close that Eve suggested she accompany Zoe to Summer Bay, just to help her settle in. Zoe agreed, and this is where the Stalker storyline begins.

As the pair were driving into Summer Bay, Eve suggested that they stop to take a picture by the 'Welcome to Summer Bay' sign, a memento of their journey. As they did so, Eve hastily attacked Zoe and killed her. In one of the first suspicious events, she then started the bush fire to burn the body.

Eve then completely stole Zoe's identity - she became the Zoe McCallister that we have come to know and love over the past 4 months. She then set about stalking the town of Summer Bay. Later this week, we explore her actions!
