Scripts - Episode 3264

SARAH MCKAY DROP-IN CENTRE

NOAH is leaning against a wall. FLYNN and HAYLEY are there.

FLYNN

Noah, lean forward mate. Put your head down.

NOAH

I’m so hot.

FLYNN

Yeah, he’s got a nice little fever running.

HAYLEY

Oh.

HAYLEY hands NOAH a bucket. NOAH is being sick.

FLYNN

Nice. That’s good mate. Has he any other symptoms?

HAYLEY

A bit of a sore neck and a headache, but it was not like he was really sick or anything?

FLYNN

Noah, man. I’m just going to feel your neck.

NOAH

Ah.

HAYLEY

Yeah, it’s OK Noah. It’s probably jus the flu or something. Are his glands up?

FLYNN

Yeah, yeah, quite a bit. Listen, mate, just sit back. I’m going to have a look at your chest.

NOAH shivers. He has a rash on his chest.

HAYLEY

Oh, my god. What is that?

FLYNN

Aw, not entirely sure, but I think we have a case of meningococcal disease. Charlotte had a case at the hospital last week. Noah, Noah, are you with me? Listen mate. I’m going to get you to the hospital. Get you checked out.

HAYLEY

Yeah, I’ll come too.

FLYNN

No, no, you stay here. Get the details of all these people. Name, numbers. Call them through the health unit, then lock the place down.

HAYLEY

Yeah, sure.

FLYNN

Noah, on three mate, I’m going to get you up, all right. One, two, three.

FLYNN and NOAH walk out.

HAYLEY

Yeah, em, I’ll see you at the hospital.

FLYNN

Yeah, I’ll see you soon.

THE HOSPITAL

FLYNN pushes NOAH in on a trolley. CHARLOTTE is there.

FLYNN

Hey, we’re on the ward now. Won’t be long. We’ll get you settled. Charlotte. I’ve got Noah here. It looks like he’s got meningococcus. Do you have a spare room?

CHARLOTTE

Em.

FLYNN

I’m going to need antibiotics ASAP.

CHARLOTTE

Em, OK. I’ll get one of the other residents to do it.

FLYNN

Good, which room?

CHARLOTTE

Take him straight through there. Straight through.

FLYNN pushes NOAH away. CHARLOTTE picks up the phone.

THE BEACHSIDE DINER

BRETT and SALLY sit at a table.

SALLY

Triathlons. That’s not Brett that I remember.

BRETT

You’re not the only one.  I mean, twelve months ago I couldn’t even run to the bus stop.

SALLY

I’m impressed. So, what other major lifestyle changes have you made?

BRETT

You mean, apart from the, eh, deep and meaningful ones, including a hairstyle, not a lot.

JUDE is at the counter with COLLEEN.

BRETT

Hey, isn’t that Jude?

SALLY

Yeah.

BRETT

Yeah, Jude.

SALLY

Hey.

JUDE

Hey. Em, do I know you from somewhere?

BRETT

Yeah, Brett Egan. I used to, em, teach at the school.

JUDE

Ah, right. I used to clean there. Actually, I still do.

SALLY

Well, he’s not doing his degree.

JUDE

Yes, six more years of cleaning and I’ll be a qualified solicitor.

JUDE’S mobile rings.

JUDE

Oh, sorry.

COLLEEN walks across to the table.

COLLEEN

More coffee’s you two?

SALLY

Eh, no thanks, Colleen.

BRETT

If I could just get the bill.

JUDE

I’ll be right there, yeah.

JUDE hangs up.

JUDE

That was Hayley. Noah’s collapsed at work and Flynn’s taken him to hospital.

SALLY

All right. Keep us posted?

JUDE

Yeah.

JUDE runs out.

THE HOSPITAL

FLYNN and CHARLOTTE are there. JUDE and HAYLEY run in.

JUDE

How is he? What’s wrong with him?

CHARLOTTE

OK, we’re waiting on the results of the lumba function, but it looks like meningococcal meningitis

JUDE

Which is what?

CHARLOTTE

It’s an infection of the membranes in the fluid around the brain.

HAYLEY

People die from that, don’t they?

CHARLOTTE

In very severe cases, yes, but we got onto this early and hopefully we’ll see the effects from the antibiotics in the next few hours.

HAYLEY

I want to see him?

CHARLOTTE

I can’t let you get to close at this stage.

JUDE

There’s no chance of you catching it or the baby getting infected.

CHARLOTTE

No. Another doctor did the examination.

JUDE

Aw, thank god for that.

JUDE, HAYLEY and CHARLOTTE all look through doors where NOAH is lying on a bed with a doctor taking notes.

SUMMER BAY HOUSE

SHELLEY is on the phone. RHYS walks in.

RHYS

Shell, have you seen.

SHELLEY

OK, thanks for letting me know Flynn.

Yep, bye.

SHELLEY puts the phone down.

RHYS

Sequel.

SHELLEY

No idea Rhys.

RHYS

What’s wrong?

SHELLEY

There’s a bit of a crisis. I have to go down to the drop-in centre.

RHYS

It’s a crisis centre Shell. You’re on holidays remember.

SHELLEY

They think Noah’s got an infectious disease and Flynn’s had to shut up shop. I need to go down to sort things out.

RHYS

How long do you think you’ll be?

SHELLEY

Aw, I don’t know. As long as it takes. Don’t worry. I won’t get sucked back in. Ah, you were looking for this.

KIRSTY walks in.

RHYS

Ta.

SHELLEY

Ah, good luck with the twins.

KIRSTY walks into the kitchen where SEB is.

JADE

Sorry about the spat.

KIRSTY

Yeah, me too.

JADE

Do you want to go down the beach?

KIRSTY

No.

JADE

The surf club?

KIRSTY

I don’t need cheering up all right. Just go and find Nick. You’ll feel better about yourself.

JADE

But you’re right. I’ve been spending too much time with Nick. I want to spend some time with you.

KIRSTY

Yeah. I really want to be alone, but thank you anyway.

KIRSTY walks out.

RHYS

Ah, anything I can do to help?

JADE

You wouldn’t understand.

RHYS

I’m trying to.

JADE

That’s really sweet dad, but it’s really too complicated. I’ll be at the surf club.

JADE walks out.

THE SURF CLUB

JADE is walking along. NICK is beside her in his wheelchair.

JADE

I can’t win. When I give her space I’m ignoring her and when I offer to make time she wants to be alone.

NICK

So, leave her alone. Jade, you can always make time for me if you’re that desperate.

JADE

What does that mean?

NICK

Nothing.

JADE

I’m not that desperate to make time for people, all right.

NICK

Is that what Kirsty said?

JADE

In a way.

NICK

Jade, I like you because you care.

JADE

Well, not too much. I know I’m hassling you a bit lately.

NICK

That’s just more being desperate to get out of this thing than you.

ALF and IRENE get out of ALF’S ute.

ALF

Oi, Nick. We’ve been looking for you.

NICK

What have I done?

IRENE

Nothing love. Nothing. Noah’s been rushed to hospital and they reckon he’s pretty crook. I’m just going to nip down offer Hayley some moral support and I was wondering if you want to come to.

NICK

You bet.

JADE

Off you go. It’s important.

NICK

You sure?

JADE

Yeah, yeah. I’ll see you later.

ALF

All right mate. You hop in the middle and we’ll get the wheelchair in the back.

JADE

Give Noah my love.

IRENE

Yeah. Will do.

SARAH MCKAY DROP-IN CENTRE

SHELLEY walks in. FLYNN is there.

FLYNN

Ah, I was wondering how long it would take you to ignore my instructions.

SHELLEY

Well I couldn’t leave you to deal with everything on your own.

FLYNN

Your on holidays.

SHELLEY

Aw, don’t you start to. Any word on Noah?

FLYNN

Yeah, he’s a pretty sick boy.

SHELLEY

There was that case last week. Do you think it’s going around?

FLYNN

I think that’s a great possibility which is why I shut down the centre. Just in case.

SHELLEY

Well, I should call DOCS. Let them know.

FLYNN

Right. One step ahead of you and I’m in the middle of calling all the kids from the various holiday courses. Letting them know we’ve had to shut down activities for the next couple of days. Don’t want to risk any cross infections.

SHELLEY

Right, well. You sure know how to make me feel redundant.

FLYNN

When I said I’d take care of things I did mean it. Now, how is the holiday going? You look refreshed.

SHELLEY

Well, that’s a wonder. It’s not like I’ve been lying on a beach these last few weeks.

FLYNN

So, how is Kirsty? Is she all right?

SHELLEY

Yeah, yeah. She’s better. Thanks to some outside advice I wasn’t sure I wanted to hear at the time.

FLYNN

Yeah. I didn’t want to tread on any toes there. He just turned up here and asked me.  I told him what I thought.

SHELLEY

Yeah, well, got her off the couch and working at the kiosk, reluctantly.

FLYNN

Well that’s step one.

SHELLEY

Rhys told me that just because I’m a social worker and a counsellor doesn’t mean I have all the answers.

FLYNN

Well, Rhys could say exact same thing to me and hit on the bulls eye again.

SHELLEY

I’ve always prided myself on being able to be objective when it came to the girls. That I’d be able to guide them like the kids that come in here.

FLYNN

Love and objectivity. Sure like to set yourself impossible challenges, did you?

SHELLEY

Come on. I’ll help you finish making those calls.

THE HOSPITAL

HAYLEY, IRENE, NICK, ALF and JUDE are there.

HAYLEY

I can’t believe how sick he got so quickly.

IRENE

Love, you couldn’t have got here any quicker if you had tried.

CHARLOTTE walk in.

ALF

Any word doc?

CHARLOTTE

They’re bringing him back from the scan now. The lumba function confirmed that he does have meningococcal, but the good thing is we’ve put him on antibiotics straight away.

NICK

And they will wipe the bug out?

CHARLOTTE

Hopefully, we will see signs of improvement soon.

IRENE

Eh, hopefully doesn’t exactly have a ring of confidence to it.

CHARLOTTE

It’s the best I can do for now. In the mean time I strongly suggest that you all take a course of antibiotics just to be sure. I’ll get the pharmacist to write up your orders.

CHARLOTTE walks away. JUDE follows her.

JUDE

Is there any chance you can take some time off? I mean, just till this is all sorted out.

CHARLOTTE

You know, I can do that. I’ve got patients here and staff rely on me.

JUDE

Out with all them. I mean, this is the second time you’ve been exposed to this. I’m worried about you and the baby.

CHARLOTTE

And you’re very sweet for being worried, but I promise you I’ll be careful.

THE SURF CLUB

JOSH is hosing down the surf club boat. DANI walks up to him.

DANI

Work those muscles. Come on.

JOSH stops hosing the boat.

JOSH

You know, it would be a lot easier for me if you gave me a hand.

DANI

Aw, but I can’t. My hands are full. Do you want to see?

JOSH

Yeah, sure.

DANI

I got some things back from the drugs article that I posted and I downloaded from the internet.

JOSH

Ah, impressive.

DANI

Some of the comments are actually rubbish, but at least people are concerned about the issues.

JOSH

And how did Kirsty feel about her story being published on the internet?

DANI

Down to earth like a thud.

JOSH

Aw, babe. You still haven’t told her

DANI

I know your opinion, thank you very much, but at least you can be happy I got a reaction.

JOSH

Aw, yes I can. Congratulations babe. I’m very impressed.

DANI

Really.

JOSH

Yes, really.

DANI and JOSH kiss.

SUMMER BAY HOUSE

KIRSTY is on the computer. RHYS is there. JADE sits at the table.

RHYS

Nick will be all right princess. Stop worrying.

JADE

I just wish I could be there for Nick. Noah’s been like a brother to him since Will’s left.

DANI walks in.

DANI

Hey guys. Em, Kirst, are you going on there much longer? There’s just something I want to check.

KIRSTY

What? How many people have read the story you’ve placed about me on the net. You should make sure you take everything out of the printer Dani especially the chat room comments you downloaded about your drug addict little sister.

DANI

That is not how I described you.

KIRSTY

That is how people are writing about me.

RHYS

Eh, guys. What is this all about?

KIRSTY

Dani wrote a story about me taking the E.

DANI

Yeah, as a warning to other kids. Look, I changed everyone’s names, your included.

KIRSTY

People must think you’re so intelligent writing this story about your little drug addict sister. Did you stop and think about how it made me feel?

DANI

I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to embarrass you.

KIRSTY

You didn’t embarrass me Dani. You completely humiliated me, all right. I made one mistake and it’s never going to go away, ever.

KIRSTY walks away.

JOSH’S CARAVAN

JOSH and DANI are in the caravan.

DANI

You were right. I should never have written the article first place. It was a stupid idea.

JOSH

It’s not like anyone outside Summer Bay is going to realise it was about Kirsty.

DANI

Yeah. Well tell that to her.

JOSH

Hey, you’re heart was in the right place. She’ll realise that sooner or later.

DANI

Hope so.

JOSH

I know so. Come here.

RHYS

It’s Rhys Sutherland.

DANI

So much for privacy.

JOSH

G’day Mr. Rhys.

RHYS walks in.

RHYS

G’day. I thought I’d come and finally fix that light for you. Are you OK?

DANI

Yeah, I’m fine.

RHYS

Good.

DANI

We should go for a walk.

JOSH

It’s all yours Mr. Sutherland.

DANI and JOSH walk out.

RHYS

Yeah, sure.

THE BEACHSIDE DINER

IRENE and NICK sit at a table. COLLEEN walks up to them.

COLLEEN

Tell me how young Noah is?

IRENE

Well, the quacks are waiting for him to respond to the stuff they’ve given him and until that happens they’re not giving any guarantees at all.

COLLEEN

Aw, just goes to show you how fragile life is when a strapping young lad like that gets struck down in his prime.

ALF walks out.

ALF

Colleen, Nick’s ready to order?

COLLEEN

You’d have to be worried.

ALF

Colleen.

COLLEEN

Uh.

ALF

Nick’s ready to order.

COLLEEN

Oh, I’ll get my pad.

COLLEEN walks away.

IRENE

Alf, love. Listen, thanks very much for everything. I’ll get a cab back in once I get that stuff from Noah’s.

ALF

Yeah. No worries.

IRENE

See ya. Bye.

IRENE walks out. RHYS walks in. ALF walks behind the counter.

IRENE

Hi ya.

ALF

Ah, for what do we owe this unexpected pleasure?

RHYS

I was wondering if I could borrow your power drill. Mines packed it in.

ALF

Aw, and here I was thinking it was a social call.

RHYS

Well I’ll have a coffee with you if you like. It will be nice to have some male company for a change.

ALF

Aw, yeah. Don’t tell me, is it the wife, the kids or the whole kit and caboodle?

RHYS

Well Dani’s hurt Kirsty and is pulling down the shutters and Jade’s so obsessed with Nick that I can’t get a word out of her and Shelley think I’ve been hit on the head with a football one too many times.

ALF

Only one.

RHYS

Look, I never claimed to be a genius, but it would be nice if my family, you know, liked to open up to me one time, like I was worth talking to.

SARAH MCKAY DROP-IN CENTRE

SHELLEY sits at the computer in the office. She is on the phone.

SHELLEY

We’ll call you when everything’s back on track.

OK, you too.

Thanks, bye.

SHELLEY puts the phone down. SALLY and

SHELLEY

Well, that’s the last of the course participants. We must be doing something right. There all disappointed.

FLYNN

OK, I’m going to do something else right. I’m going to send you back on holidays.

SHELLEY

Aw, bossy, isn’t he?

FLYNN

Aw, it’s the male gene.

SHELLEY

You’ll keep me posted.

FLYNN

No.

SHELLEY

Bye.

SHELLEY walks out.

FLYNN

See you. OK, I’ll close up here and we’ll get down to the hospital.

SALLY

This things pretty serious for Noah, isn’t it?

FLYNN

Well, if we didn’t get on to it soon enough meningicoccus has been known to kill, yeah.

SALLY

Something else for Charlotte to worry about.

FLYNN

What do you mean?

FLYNN and SALLY walk out the office.

SALLY

Well, first the baby and all the stuff with Jude and now this.

FLYNN

I thought Jude and Charlotte were pretty much getting back on track.

SALLY

Aw, they say they are.

FLYNN

What? You don’t agree.

SALLY

Well it’s something about the way they’ve been since she fell pregnant. I just hope that.

FLYNN

Sal, don’t get.

SALLY

No, I’m not getting.

FLYNN

Obsessive.

SALLY

Shelley is right, you are bossy.

FLYNN

OK. I am the boss man. I shall decide where we go for dinner tonight.

SALLY

Yeah, as long as it’s just you and me.

FLYNN

You’ve had your ego massaged enough for one day then.

SALLY

I liked to convince myself that’s all lunch was about. The way that Brett hung around after I’d made it clear that you and I were an item. It was like it wasn’t the only reason he was there.

THE BEACH

BRETT runs up to IRENE.

BRETT

Irene. Brett Egan. I used to, eh, teach at Summer Bay High.

IRENE

Aw, g’day love. Nice to see you. What brings you back to this neck of the woods?

BRETT

You know, just passing. Saw the light on. Are you still working at the school?

IRENE

Yeah, until it closes.

BRETT

Yeah, yeah, I heard all about that and Don Fisher getting dismissed.

IRENE

Mmm, don’t ask me to explain. I don’t even think the department can.

BRETT

Yes, someone said something about it being performance related. That the student pass marks were way down.

IRENE

Aw, love. I don’t think that’s right. I mean, last years marks were the best they’ve been in three years.

BRETT

Yeah, that’s why I figured. I couldn’t imagine Don letting that sides of things slip.

IRENE

Ah look, Brett. I hate to be rude love, but I’m in a bit of a rush.

BRETT

Sorry, I didn’t mean to keep you. Nice to catch up.

IRENE

Yeah, you too love. Bye

IRENE walks away.

THE HOSPITAL

JUDE and CHARLOTTE are there.

JUDE

I still don’t understand why Noah got this and we’re OK? I mean, it’s not like he’s not healthy.

CHARLOTTE

That’s one of the scary things about this bacteria. It strikes at random.

JUDE

But he’s going to be OK?

CHARLOTTE

I’d be a lot happier if he was responding to the antibiotics by now, but if he starts showing signs of improvement at any point within the next twenty-four hours he will be well on the way to a full recovery.

JUDE

What if he doesn’t?

CHARLOTTE

We’ll worry about that if it happens.

CHARLOTTE walks away.

SUMMER BAY HOUSE

RHYS and SHELLEY walks in.

RHYS

So, Kirsty disappears upstairs and then Dani runs off to cry on Josh’s shoulder.

SHELLEY

Oh, it gets better and better, doesn’t it?

RHYS

Aw, I’m getting sick of it Shell. I mean, why won’t our kids talk to us anymore?

SHELLEY

Aw, because they turned into teenagers and moved to a different planet.

RHYS

Well how come I still can’t get into the bathroom?

SHELLEY

I’ll have a talk to them.

RHYS

Yeah. Well you might want to have a word to Jade while you’re at it. Remind her that there’s more to life than fussing over Nick Smith.

SHELLEY

Well, she’s worried about him.

RHYS

Yeah, and I admire that, but I don’t want her obsessing over him.

SHELLEY

Well, have you tried to talking to her?

RHYS

And failed. Now, if you want me, I’ll be outside with my new best friend.

RHYS walks out with a drill.

JOSH’S CARAVAN

JOSH and DANI lie on the bed.

DANI

Dad, left smudge marks on the light fitting.

JOSH

Be sure to let him know you disapprove. Get him back to clean it up.

DANI

Ah, not while I’m here. This is where I come for a bit of space.

JOSH

You must be . These vans bring a new meaning to the word cosy.

DANI

And your problem with cosy would be?

JOSH

My problem with cosy is the thought that it might make you a little bit uncomfortable.

DANI

That is very sweet of you and it’s good that you haven’t been putting pressure on me. That’s why being here feels good. Less stressed. What would you say if, em, I said that I thought I’d be ready.

JOSH

I’d say anytime. You just let me know.

DANI

Why don’t you have dinner with me tonight?

JOSH

I can do that.

SUMMER BAY HOUSE

JADE pushes NICK in.

JADE

He’s going to be OK, isn’t he?

NICK

Yeah, I hope so. When I left they just kept on talking about antibiotics and stuff.

SHELLEY walks out the kitchen.

SHELLEY

Is that Noah Nick?

NICK

Yeah. He’s still pretty bad, but I’m sure he’s going to be OK. It’s Noah. He’s strong and he’s fit.

SHELLEY

Is there anything we can do?

NICK

No, I don’t thinks. Irene, Hayley and Jude are with him now.

JADE

Poor Hayley. I wouldn’t be able to cope of I was her.

NICK

You coped with this.

JADE

Yeah, but that’s different. Hayley has to wait and hope. At least there’s stuff I can do to help you.

NICK

Ohhhh. Actually, actually. There’s this tiny little thing here.

JADE kisses NICK.

NICK

Got you.

JADE

Nick, you big dag? Do you want to stay for dinner?

NICK

I don’t want to get in the way.

JADE

No, it’s all right. Nick can stay for dinner, can’t he?

DANI walks in.

DANI

Aw, he can take my place. I’m going to go to Josh’s for dinner. Is that OK?

SHELLEY

Oh, does it really matter what I think.

DANI

Mum, you’re all that matters. Is, em, Kirsty out there?

SHELLEY

Yeah, she is. I heard you two had a bit of an argument.

DANI

Yes. I’ve got some serious grovelling to do.

KIRSTY is sitting out on the veranda. DANI walks out.

DANI

Kirst, I just want to say that I’m really sorry and that the only reason that I wrote the article was to help other people in the same situation and yes, I should have changed it more and asked you. Kirst.

KIRSTY

What do you want me to say Dani? That it’s all right. That I forgive you.

DANI

That’s what I was hoping.

KIRSTY

Dani, you’re not the one that everybody points at. That everybody talks about behind their back.

DANI

They don’t do that Kirst. They understand.

KIRSTY

No, Dani, they don’t understand. I don’t think they ever will understand.

DANI

Well, that’s there problem. Like seriously, you made one mistake and that’s all it was, a mistake and that doesn’t stop any of us loving each you.

DANI rubs KIRSTY’S hand.

THE HOSPITAL

HAYLEY is sitting at NOAH’S bedside.

HAYLEY

And when we get you out of here, we’re not just going to talk about it. We’re going to do it. Even if it means we’ve got to drive every real estate agent in Summer Bay crazy and don’t worry about how I tell Nick or Irene I’m moving out. When the time comes I’ll find a way to do it or how we’re going to afford it because somehow we’ll find a way.

JUDE walks in.

HAYLEY

But the main thing is you’ve got to get better. Please don’t leave me now. Now I know how much I love you.

HAYLEY starts crying. CHARLOTTE, SALLY and FLYNN are at the counter. CHARLOTTE hands them both something.

CHARLOTTE

Thank you.

FLYNN

Thanks.

IRENE walks in.

IRENE

Aw, she dosing you up as well, eh?

FLYNN

Yeah, better to be safe than sorry, eh.

IRENE

Mmm, that’s for sure.

JUDE walks up to them.

IRENE

How is he Charlotte?

CHARLOTTE

No real change. Excuse me guys.

CHARLOTTE walks away.

JUDE

I’ll take that.

IRENE

Oh, good on you darl.

IRENE hands JUDE a bag.

IRENE

Thanks.

JUDE walks away.

IRENE

I bumped into a mate of yours earlier.

FLYNN

Let me guess. Mr. Brett Egan.

IRENE

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, he’d heard some pretty dodgy things about the school closing down and Don getting the flick. Naturally I had to set him straight. He seemed pretty chirpy.

SALLY

Oh, that’s weird.

IRENE

What?

SALLY

He asked me all about that at lunchtime.

FLYNN

Well, as much as I’d like to stand here all day talking about Brett Egan I do have to get back to work. Make some calls.

SALLY

Oh, yes, he is jealous.

FLYNN

No, he has to get back to work. Make some calls. Thanks Charlotte.

SALLY

See you.

FLYNN and SALLY walk away. HAYLEY is at NOAH’S bedside.

HAYLEY

I’m going to go out and see Irene. Will you be all right? Noah.

JUDE runs in.

JUDE

What’s wrong?

HAYLEY

I don’t know. His eyes are open, but it’s like he can’t hear me.

JUDE

Noah, mate, can you hear me?

JUDE runs to the door.

JUDE

I’ll get Charlotte. Charlotte, get some help.

HAYLEY

Noah.

JUDE

Come on, come on.

CHARLOTTE, IRENE and a NURSE walks in.

CHARLOTTE

What’s going on?

HAYLEY

I don’t know. He’s gone all weird.

JUDE

What are you doing in here?

CHARLOTTE

Noah, can you hear me? Noah, its Charlotte. Can you squeeze my hand? Get the rhesus trolley. He needs intubated.

JUDE

What are you doing in here?

CHARLOTTE

He’s unconscious. I need to put a tube down his throat to help him breath.

JUDE

What about infection.

CHARLOTTE

No other doctor around Jude. If I don’t do this he will die. Now get out of the way. Get Doctor Cossarge in here with me.

The NURSE runs out. IRENE, HAYLEY and JUDE watch CHARLOTTE treat NOAH.
