Ailsa was in hospital, she suffered a heart attack and died. Alf hadn't moved the boxes from the diner, so she decided to move them herself. The strain was too much for her heart.
Her funeral was today, the whole Bay was there, all shattered as if time had stopped.
Fisher delivered a touching eulogy while Mitch sang. Shauna spoke about how glad she was to have had a chance to get to know her mother. The tragedy was too much for her to bear - she broke down. They scattered Ailsa's ashes out to sea.
Duncan is putting on a brave face but finding it difficult. It doesn't help that Alf is pushing him away. Alf feels responsible for Ailsa's death. Ailsa's death has brought back bad memories for lots of people. Nick walked out of the funeral because it reminded him of his own father's death. Hayley took him home while Irene worried about Alf, Duncan and Mitch.
Also in the Bay, there are main relationship problems happening. Ted still has feelings for Leah, and seeing Vinnie and Leah together hurts him. And Vinnie is worried about Leah's reaction to his 'health problem', so he is yet to propose which is worrying Leah. However Vinnie thinks Leah's forgotten about his promise, so he's feeling relieved since it saves him having to tell her the truth.
Then there is Harry and Sally, Sally gave him her piece of mind, as did Shauna.
Shauna and Jude are getting along a bit better. Shauna made him promise never to kiss her again. He agreed but asked if he could take her out after things settle down. She's going to think about it. Noah thinks Jude's crazy to get involved with Shauna, but what does he know about relationships? He can't get things right with Hayley - they're not officially 'going out'.
Erin Flannery
Alf is tormented with guilt over Ailsa's death. Leah waits with baited breath for Vinnie's proposal. Harry forces Sally to reconsider her relationship with Luke.

We're in the process of creating a brand new look Back to the Bay to freshen things up, clear out the clutter and add some features as we go. Apologies for how long it's taking and how much of the site is looking rather peculiar as a result, but rest assured we're making progress and the new look will be complete within the next few weeks.
