Extended Summary

Sarah and Angel are still cleaning up the mess made from the custard and talk about Shane. Sarah mentions that Jack went too far, but Angel says that the rules are that you can say anything, and she says that Jack is really clever. Sally hears this and smiles.

Jack appears and finds Shane asleep at the porch. He stays put for a while. Pip and Michael return and say that they had a great night. He says that he can go on with life better now. At this point, Jack leaves from behind a tree and goes up to the porch quietly, but Shane grabs him. Shane gets on top of him and pours oil over him. He is caught when Michael and Pip see this incident.

Michael gives out to Shane, Damian and Jack. Damian tells him he did not do anything, but Michael tells him he did not stop or control them. Shane and Jack have a war of words, and Michael shouts at them. Pip asks him about the shirt and asks is it do to with the remains of a bucket of custard. Michael then demands to know the full story of what exactly happened last night.

Jack thanks Sally for cleaning up the mess and she tells him his plan has worked. He is happy to hear this. At the Diner, Jack sees Angel and says hi to her. He apologises to her for the embarrassment, but she says that he has not done anything wrong: Shane should have told the truth. Shane enters the Diner and confronts Jack as soon as he sees him near Angel. Angel is angry and storms out of the Diner. Outside, she gives out to Shane, saying that he should grow up. She mentions that she keeps hearing about the new Shane would get a job, but has not seen him yet. She tells him that Jack has won and advises him to walk away and ignore him.

Fin tells Roxy that she would be taking her jewellery back. When she returns, she brings her mum home but would not allow her to see and covers her eyes. She grabs her dress and tells her she can see. Irene is delighted to see the dress, and asks how could Fin afford it. She realises she has taken her jewellery back. Irene says she does not deserve the dress, as she was a lousy mother for years. Fin says she deserves the dress as she appreciates everything she has done for her. Irene believes she should not have it anyway, and Fin says that if she looks in her face and tells her she does not like the dress, she will take it back.

Irene tries her dress on and loves it. There is a door knock and she wants to hide. Fin points out that she should show her dress and answers the door. It’s Roxy, and she says the dress is fantastic and is perfect for what she has in mind. She mentions a debutante ball and she needs someone to teach the dance. Irene likes the idea, but she would need a partner as it takes two to tango.

Roxy calls at Fishers and shows Fisher the copies, or what they came out to be, and shows them to him. He asks what are they supposed to be, pictures of the Black Sea. She complains to Fisher about the photocopier. He says that there it may be temperamental, but there is nothing wrong with it. She insists that it is not working, and he asks her for the originals. He will photocopy them, and Roxy says quietly, “your funeral”.

Fisher is on the phone; Michael is at the other end, telling him about the incident between Shane and Jack. Shane has just arrived, and Fisher has words with him. Fisher is going to the school and tells Shane that he is coming with him. Shane does not like the idea, and Fisher says that he wants him where he can see him; he will treat him like a child while he behaves like one.

At the school, Fisher is trying to fix the copier and gives out to Shane. Roxy enters and hears the shouting from Fisher. She asks him how is it going and he admits that he cannot fix it despite him being able to get it going before. She says that they do need a new one, and he says that the budget is full; she tells him of the idea of having a debs ball and that it would be a great fundraiser. He is not sure about the ball, but he is all for introducing the young to finer things in life.

Jack goes to the beach to apologise to Shane; he says he is sorry for him. He mentions that he is losing Angel – to him…
