After her mother's stroke, Pauline came to Summer Bay with her two kids to decide whether or not they should turn off the life support machine. Ben and Pauline agreed that Joy's machine should be turned off, but Cassie was intially reluctant. Ben and Pauline decided that it should be turned off after the doctors told them they should be no hope of recovery.
When Ben called, Pauline's daughter, Carla "Angel", Cassie realised that Ben was abusing Carla as well, and they left soon afterwards.
