Lisa Lackey

Played Roxanne Miller

"The worst job I ever had was being a checkout girl. I couldn't handle it at all. I was only there for about a day before I had had enough," explains Lisa.
On leaving home at the age of 17, Lisa Lackey was taken by a modelling agency, where she was given the name 'Slackey'. I was supposed to call in every day, but I never did, so they nicknamed me Slackey," she laughs.
Lisa's career in modelling continued, with a longing to appear in television as well as magazines. "I took acting lessons for a few years between modelling and whenever I had the money," she explains, "I then went for an audition for Home and Away and I got the part. But at the same time, I was due to go to Germany and Japan on modelling assignments."
Lisa chose Home and Away and within two days of signing the contract, she moved to Sydney - leaving her cats, boyfriend and friends behind.
The first day on the Home and Away set was a nerve-wracking experience for Lisa. She had long since put all that behind her and her character. Roxanne had fast become one of Summer Bay's main characters.

After Home and Away, Lisa appreared in a telemovie, Cody: Falling From Grace in 1996.
