Played Stephanie Mboto
Fleur was born on 7 April 1979, in Sydney.
Her father is Tanzanian and her mother is of Anglo-Indian descent. She grew up in Australia, and lived with her mother.
Fleur says of her alter ego,
Stephanie has been through a lot, and she's had to be independent and rely upon her own resources. Now she's trying not to forget about her past but to make a new beginning. She's had a lot more life experience than I have but that makes her more challenging to play.
This is Fleur's first TV drama role. She has appeared in a few commercials and has been taking dancing and acting lessons and performing with the Brent Street Theatre since she was six or seven. She has also appeared in Heartbreak High.
"I've always enjoyed acting", she said, "Up until now, I don't know that I have planned to make it my career but when I got the opportunity to work on Home and Away I knew I had to take it."
Fleur combined her acting workload with her commitment to finishing her HSC studies, working with a tutor between scenes and going to school when possible. She said that she missed being with friends but kept in touch with them on the weekends, going to classes when she can.
Her interests include going to the movies. In the Name of the Father is one of her favourite films and she admires its star, Daniel Day-Lewis. Her musical taste is broad ranging, with her favourite bands including The Cranberries, Tracey Chapman and The Beatles.
Fleur first appeared on Home and Away on Block 836, on May 23, 1996. |
