Ben Denis Unwin was born in Sydney on 15 August 1977. His first appearance on Home and Away was as a person who taunted Shannon in the school corridor; he said just 50 words in this role, in the previous year.

Before Home and Away, he had a guest role on GP, the ABC series in 1993. He played Adam, who rebelled against his wealthy father by becoming a street kid.

Not only these, but he has also appeared in the production of Seven Little Australians at Sydney's Footbridge Theatre and in many commercials, including Coca Cola and Clearasil.

As a performer, Ben's great love is his music. He sings, plays guitar and co-writes songs with a group of friends. His tastes in music include Pearl Jam, Lenny Kravitz, Smashing Pumpkins, Morthound and Brand New Heavies.

Ben also enjoys magazines, art, books and films. Among his all-time great movies are Clockwork Orange, Casino, Taxi Driver, Eraserhead and Aliens.

His other passion are cars. His first car was a 1968 HR Holden; "it was green and white but I painted it black with
